Liberty University freshman third baseman Landon Scilley hit his first collegiate home run as the Flames beat No. 17 Duke 12-4 on Wednesday in Durham, North Carolina.
Scilley hit the solo home run in the third inning and drove in another run with a double in the sixth inning.
Scilley raised his batting average to .433. Third base is the second position Scilley has played this season. He was the center fielder in the season opener and has been the designated hitter in six games.
Liberty (6-2) will play the UNC Wilmington Seahawks on Friday.
