Litzinger is the only local golfer to make the cut at state tourney
Mason County junior Bradley Litzinger was the only local golfer to make the cut at the Leachman Buick & GMC/KHSAA Boys' State Golf Championship. Litzinger shot an 8-over-par 80 Friday at Bowling Green Country Club and made the cut on the number. St. Patrick senior Russell Rigg shot an 81 and missed the cut by one shot. Mason County had a team total of 343, The team cut was 329. Tanner Walton shot an 86. Dee Hampton had an 87. Jackson Frame had a 90, and Tyler Lippert shot a 100. Only the four lowest scores are used for the team total.

First round tee times set for state golf tournaments
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association has released the first round tee times for the state golf tournaments. The Mason County Lady Royals will play in the Leachman Buick & GMC/KHSAA Girls' State Championships. The Mason County Royals and St. Patrick senior Russell Rigg will play in the Leachman Buick & GMC/KHSAA Boys' State Championships. Both tournaments will be played at Bowling Green Country Club. Royals, Rigg qualify for state golf tournament
The Mason County Royals and St. Patrick senior Russell Rigg have qualified for the boys' state golf tournament. Mason County was the runner-up in the Region 8 Tournament today at Pendleton County Country Club. The Royals finished eight shots behind Highlands. Bradley Litzinger and Tanner Walton led Mason County with 77s. Rigg shot a 75 and finished in the third place in the individual competition. The Leachman Buick & GMC/KHSAA Boys' State Golf Tournament will be played October 7-8 at Bowling Green Country Club.

Rigg T42 at All "A" Classic state golf tournament
St. Patrick senior Russell Rigg shot a 9-over-par 81 Saturday at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond and tied for 42nd place in the All "A" Classic state golf tournament.

Russell Rigg to play in All "A" Classic state tournament for the third time in four years
St. Patrick senior Russell Rigg will play in the All "A" Classic state golf tournament for the third time in four years. Rigg won the All "A" Classic regional tournament at Flagg Springs Golf Course last month. He also won the regional tournament his freshman season. Rigg was the regional runner-up his sophomore year but did not play in the state tournament because it was the same day as the Mason County/St. Patrick Invitational Tournament. Last year, Rigg finished third in the regional tournament and 12th in the state tournament. This year's state tournament will be played Saturday at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond. Rigg will start on No. 10 and has a 1:09 tee time.

Royals and Lady Royals 3rd in weekend tourneys
The Mason County Royals finished third in the Mason County/St. Patrick Invitational at the Maysville Country Club Saturday. Twenty-five teams played in the tournament. Bourbon County won with a total of 317. Grant County was second at 318. Mason County had a total of 323. Bradley Litzinger led the Royals with a 77. St. Patrick senior Russell Rigg shot a 76 and finished in eighth place.
The Mason County Lady Royals took third place in the Scott County Invitational at Canewood Golf Course in Georgetown Saturday. The Lady Royals were led by Tiara Harris with a 90.

Rigg is medalist, Saints take 3rd place in Bluegrass Conference Championship tourney
St. Patrick senior Russell Rigg shot a 1-under-par 34 to claim medalist honors and the Saints took third place in the Bluegrass Conference Championship tournament today at Shady Brook Golf Club near Paris. Rigg won the tournament by seven shots.

Walton 3rd, Rigg 4th and Harris 3rd in Northern Kentucky 7-UP Junior Golf Tour Championship
Tanner Walton shot a 77 today at Boone Links and took third place in the boys' 16-18 division of the Northern Kentucky 7-UP Junior Golf Tour Championship. Walton and Millson Adams finished regulation play in the two-day tournament tied at 155, four shots behind the winner Blake Hamilton. Adams won a playoff for second place. Russell Rigg shot an 81 and finished fourth with a two-day total of 158. Tiara Harris shot an 80 today and finished third in the girls' division with a two-day total of 171. Rigg, Walton and Harris make the cut at Northern Kentucky 7-Up Junior Golf Tour Championship
Russell Rigg, Tanner Walton and Tiara Harris made the cut at the Northern Kentucky 7-UP Junior Golf Tour Championship today at Lassing Pointe. Rigg, a rising senior at St. Patrick, shot a 77 and is two shots behind the co-leaders in the boys' 16-18 division. Walton, a rising junior at Mason County, shot a 78 in the boys' 16-18 division. Harris, a rising senior at Mason County, shot a 91 and is tied for fourth place, 12 shots back in the girls' division. Only the top six golfers in each division made the cut. Rigg takes third place in Musselmann-Dunne Junior Golf Tour Championship
Russell Rigg took third place in the boys' 16-18 division of the Musselman-Dunne Junior Golf Tour Championship at Big Spring Country Club in Louisville. Rigg had a two-day total of 13-over-par 157. Josh Griffin won at 152. Ashton Van Horne finished in second place at 156.

Russell Rigg wins boys' 16-18 division and Sarah Fite gets first win in 7-UP event at Flagg Springs
Russell Rigg shot a one-over-par 72 and won the boys' 16-18 division at the Northern Kentucky 7-UP Junior Golf Tour event today at Flagg Springs Golf Course in Campbell County. Bradley Litzinger tied for second place, two shots back. Sarah Fite picked up her first win on the 7-UP Tour with a one-shot victory in the Wie division. Tiara Harris took third place and Christen Cropper was fourth in the Annika Division. Here is a link to the complete results.

Rigg takes second place in Musselman-Dunne Tour event
Russell Rigg shot a 12-over-par 84 and took second place at the Musselman-Dunne Junior Golf Tour event at Lassing Pointe Golf Course in Union Tuesday. Rigg finished three shots behind the winner.

Litzinger and Frame win on N. Ky 7-Up Junior Golf Tour
Bradley Litzinger and Jackson Frame were winners on the Northern Kentucky 7-Up Junior Golf Tour Friday at the World of Sports.
Litzinger shot a five-under-par 53 to win the boys' 16-18 division. Tanner Walton finished second with a one-under 57. Russell Rigg shot an even-par 58 and took third place.
Frame won the boys' 14-15 division with a 61. Sarah Fite shot a 42 to finish third in the girls' 11 and under division.

Rigg loses in a playoff at Kearney Hills
Russell Rigg lost in a playoff today in a Pepsi Junior Golf Tour event at Kearney Hills Golf Links in Lexington. Rigg shot a 74 and was tied for first place with Tyler Morgan of Annville. Morgan won on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff.

Rigg T18 at Mid-American Junior Golf Tour's Memorial Day Invitational
Russell Rigg tied for 18th place in the Mid-American Junior Golf Tour's Memorial Day Invitational at Hueston Woods State Park in College Corner, Ohio. Rigg had a 54-hole total of
11-over par 227, 12 shots behind the winner. He had rounds of 75, 78 and 74. Rigg tied for 10th in birdies (8), tied for fourth in birdies on Par 5s (4), and tied for 10th in birdies on Par 3s (1).

Russell Rigg takes third place in Musslemann/Dunne event in Lebanon
Russell Rigg shot an 81 Sunday and finished third in the Musslemann-Dunn Golf Tour event at Rosewood Golf Club in Lebanon. Rigg was the runner-up in the season-opening tournament in Owensboro and won the tournament in Prestonsburg in Week Two. There are 18 regular season tournaments scheduled on the tour this year. The Tour Championship will be played July 19-20 at Big Spring Country Club in Louisville.

Russell Rigg gets first win of the season
Russell Rigg picked up his first win of the season- a five-shot victory in the Stone Crest KIA Classic on the Mussleman-Dunn Golf Tour. Rigg fired a two-under-par 70 Saturday at Stone Crest Golf Course in Prestonsburg. The second round was rained out today. Rigg hit nine of 14 fairways and 14 of 18 greens Saturday. He had 28 putts.

Rigg ties for 48th place at Preseason Junior
Russell Rigg shot an 85 today and tied for 48th place in the Preseason Junior in Ocala, Fla. Rigg had a two-day total of 20-over 164. The tournament was conducted by the American Junior Golf Association at Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club.

Rigg shoots a 79 in first round of Preseason Junior
Russell Rigg shot a seven-over par 79 today in the first round of the Preseason Junior at Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club in Ocala, Fla. Rigg is tied for 21st place, 11 shots behind the leader. The final round will be played Sunday. Seventy-six boys and 18 girls are playing in the tournament conducted by the American Junior Golf Association. Here is a link to the first round results.
