Augusta sweeps St. Patrick in girls' and boys' DH

 Augusta swept a girls' and boys' doubleheader vs. St. Patrick on Friday night in Augusta.

Laci Tackett and Reagan Tackett each scored 20 points and Kenzington Hinson added 18 points to lead the Lady Panthers to a 77-34 win over the Lady Saints. Laci Tackett grabbed the 500th rebound of her career.

Lillian Klee scored a game-high 21 points for St. Patrick.

The final score in the boys' game was 87-45.

Maddox Hesler led four Augusta players in double figures with 13 points. Keeton Bach scored 12 including his 1,000th career point. Will Kelsch followed with 11 and Noland Young tossed in 10.

Rudy Ignacio and Abi Ignacio each scored 13 points for St. Patrick.

The Lady Panthers (9-12) will host the Boone County Lady Rebels on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Hardwood Classic. 

The Lady Saints (3-14) will travel to Cynthiana on Tuesday night to play the Harrison County Fillies.

The Panthers (13-6) will host the Ryle Raiders on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the Hardwood Classic.

The Saints (2-16) will travel to Frankfort on Saturday to play Frankfort Christian at 3:30 P.M.

St. Patrick swept by Augusta in 1/4 finals of 10th Region All "A" Classic

Both the St. Patrick Lady Saints and Saints were knocked out of the 10th Region All "A" Classic in quarterfinal round games on Monday night at The Shamrock.

The girls' game score was 81-30. The boys' game score was 82-51.

Kenzington Hinson scored a game-high 25 for Lady Panthers (6-8), while Laci Tackett followed with 19 and Reagan Tackett had 11.

Lillilian Klee led the Lady Saints (1-9) with 17 points.

Keeton Bach had a game-high 19 points for the Panthers (8-5) while Ross Carl scored 15, Will Kelsch 14, Noland Young 12 and Maddox Hesler 10.

Glenn Reed led the Saints (1-11) with 17 points, Amari Myrick followed with 14 and Abi Ignacio added 10.

Both the Augusta girls and boys advance to the semifinals to play Bishop Brossart at Robertson County. The boys' game is Tuesday night, the girls' game is on Wednesday.

The Lady Saints will travel to Vanceburg on Tuesday night to play the Lewis County Lions.

The Saints' next game is on Thursday night vs. Mason County at the Lady Royals Gym.

Lady Saints defeat Lady Panthers 61-53

In a game with nine ties and nine lead changes, the St. Patrick Lady Saints defeated the Augusta Lady Panthers 61-53 in the semifinals of the 39th District Tournament at The Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.

Caroline McKay hit two 3-pointers in the first 90 seconds of the fourth quarter to give St. Patrick a 46-36 lead. Augusta scored five straight points to cut the lead in half. The Lady Saints answered with a 9-2 run to take their biggest lead at 55-43 with 2:05 left. The Lady Panthers put together a 7-1 run to get to within six with 1:05 to go, but could get no closer.
McKay hit five 3-pointers and scored 20 points to lead four Lady Saints in double figure scoring. Lillian Klee had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Makenna Roush had 12 points and seven rebounds and Izzy Riggs added 11 points.

Megan Jones had 21 points and eight rebounds for Augusta. Laci Tackett scored 15 points and Reagan Tackett tossed in 12 points.

St. Patrick (16-14) will play Bracken County in the championship game on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Augusta ends the season with a 13-15 record.

Lady Royals defeat Augusta 71-57

Macey Littleton had a game-high 18 points and Sarah Payne hit five 3-pointers and scored 17 points as the Mason County Lady Royals snapped a four-game losing streak with a 71-57 win over the Augusta Lady Panthers in Augusta on Saturday night.

Four Lady Panthers scored in double figures led by Laci Tackett with 16 points. Megan Jones scored 15 points, Reagan Tackett tossed in 14 and Kenzington Hinson added 10. 

There were four ties and seven lead changes in the first half.

Mason County led 51-42 at the end of the third quarter and 60-46 in the fourth quarter. Augusta would get no closer than 10 points.

The Lady Royals hit 12 3-pointers in the game and made 11-of-14 free throws in the fourth quarter.

Mason County (8-11) will play at Bracken County on Monday night.

Augusta (6-10) will be at home against Robertson County on Monday night.

Lady Saints beat Augusta 68-58

Four St. Patrick starters scored in double figures and the Lady Saints defeated the Augusta Lady Panthers 68-58 at The Shamrock on Wednesday night.

Lillian Klee scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Makenna Roush tossed in 15 points, Izzy Riggs had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Caroline McKay added 12 points.

Laci Tackett poured in 27 points for Augusta. Reagan Tackett added 18 points for the Lady Panthers.

After trailing 21-19 in the second quarter, the Lady Saints went on a 21-2 run which began with 10 straight points.

St. Patrick (11-7) will play the Pendleton County Lady Wildcats in Falmouth on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Augusta (6-8) will be back in action on Thursday night at home vs. Bracken County.

Lady Saints use balance scoring to defeat Augusta 62-44

All five St. Patrick starters scored in double figures in the Lady Saints' 62-44 road win over the Augusta Lady Panthers tonight.

Emma Gallenstein and Izzy Riggs both had double-doubles. Gallenstein scored a career-high 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Riggs had 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Caroline McKay scored 12 points, Lillian Klee 11 and Makenna Roush 10.

Augusta (3-4) was led by Reagan Tackett with 15 points including four three-pointers.

St. Patrick (5-2) plays at Georgetown, Ohio Thursday night.

The Mason County Lady Royals beat the Augusta Lady Panthers 61-37

The Mason County Lady Royals outscored the Augusta Lady Panthers 40-20 in the second half in a 61-37 victory in the lower bracket semifinal game of the 39th District Tournament tonight at The Fieldhouse.

The Lady Royals scored 21 points off the Lady Panthers' 21 turnovers.

Mason County (16-9) had a 20-4 advantage in second chance points and 20-0 in points off the bench.

Avery Sims scored a game-high 18 points for the Lady Royals. Macey Littleton followed with 11 points and Sarah Payne added 10 points.

Augusta (8-17) was led in scoring by Reagan Tackett with 15 points. Megan Jones tossed in 10 points.

Mason County will play Bracken County in Thursday night's championship game.

Lady Royals cruise past the Lady Panthers 67-34

The Mason County Lady Royals jumped out to a 14-0 lead on their way to a 67-34 victory over the Augusta Lady Panthers in the upper bracket semifinal game of the 39th District Tournament tonight at The Fieldhouse.

The final nine minutes were played with a running clock.

Rachel Payne scored a game-high 26 points for Mason County. Milyn Henry followed with 14 points and Avery Sims added 11 points.

Reagan Tackett led Augusta in scoring with 13 points.

Mason County advances to the district championship game and the 10th Region Tournament.
