Chris Stapleton is the new boys' basketball coach Fleming County
Chris Stapleton, a 2005 graduate of Mason County High School, is the new boys' basketball coach at Fleming County High School.
Stapleton succeeds Matt Taylor whose contract was not renewed after one season as the Panthers' coach.
Stapleton, a member of Mason County's 2003 state championship team and 2004 state runner-up team, was the Royals' freshman head coach and varsity assistant for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.
He has been the junior varsity coach and varsity assistant at Scott High School the last three seasons.
Stapleton has been a successful coach on the AAU circuit. He guided TBC Elite to the 17U Blue Division Gold Bracket Championship in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in 2015.
Stapleton received his bachelor's degree in Sports Business from Northern Kentucky University in 2010,and his Master of Arts in Teaching Special Education from the University of the Cumberlands in 2012.
