Mason Co. hosts first indoor track meet of the season

The Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association indoor track meet was held Saturday at the US Bank-Mason County Schools Indoor Athletic Complex. Mason County won the boys' meet and took third place in the girls' meet. Mason County junior Madison Paver won the girls' 55 meter dash (7.92). Mason County freshman Nick Robinson won the boys' 800 meter run (2:23.33). Mason County's team of Valerie Rice, Raylee Kirkland, Cara Woods and Julia Woods won the girls' 4x800 meter relay. Another Mason County record set at Mason-Dixon Games

After further review, Mason County Coach Mark Kachler discovered another school record was set at the Mason-Dixon Games Saturday. The girls 4x200 meter relay team of Madison Paver, Andreana Bennett, Iretta Carpenter and Ashley Deatley set a new record with a time of 2:01.59. Four other school records were set at Mason-Dixon Games.

Mason Co. girls' 4x400 meter relay team sets school record

The Mason County girls' 4x400 meter relay team of Valerie Rice, Madison Paver, Iretta Carpenter and Ashley Deatley set a school record (4:46.77) and won the race at the indoor meet Saturday at the US Bank/Mason County Schools Indoor Athletic Facility. Mason County finished fifth in the girls' high school meet, 11th in the boys' high school meet, second in the boys' middle school meet and third in the girls' middle school meet.
