Mason County archer Bryce Pollitt is an individual co-state champion

Mason County junior archer Bryce Pollitt is an individual co-state champion.

Pollitt shot a 295 on Tuesday at the 2024 Operation UNITE/KHSAA State Archery Championships at Central Bank Center in Lexington.

He finished tied with Anderson County sophomore Ryan Heng.

Pollitt and Heng both had 25 Tens and five Nines, and they were named co-state champions.

Pollitt was an individual qualifier for the state tournament.

Mason County's other individual qualifier, seventh grader Kimber Ferguson, shot a 277 on Tuesday and tied for 77th place.

Mason County finishes third in boys' and girls' region archery tournaments

The Mason County boys' and girls' archery teams both finished third in the Region 7 tournaments on Saturday at Bourbon County.

Harrison County won the boys' tournament and Fleming County was the runner-up, edging Mason County in a tiebreaker. Both the champion and runner-up advance to the state tournament.

Harrison County had a team score of 1990. Fleming County and Mason County tied for second at 1910. Fleming County took the runner-up spot with 89 Tens. Mason County had 85 Tens.

Harrison County also won the girls' tournament (2011), Montgomery County was the runner-up (1928) and Mason County was third (1923).

Two Mason County archers  Kimber Ferguson (286) and Bryce Pollitt (284)  qualified for the state tournament as individuals.
