Lady Royals shutout by Lewis County

The Mason County Lady Royals were held to one hit in a 7-0 loss to the Lewis County Lady Lions Monday.

Lewis County senior Emily Cole struck out 13 and walked three in picking up her 18th win of the season.

Shelby Thompson had Mason County's lone hit, a single.

The Lady Royals (18-5) play the Paris Lady Hounds in Paris today at 5:30 p.m.

Lady Royals run rule Ripley for fifth straight win

Shelby Thompson hit a two-run walk-off home run to give the Mason County Lady Royals a 14-4 win over the visiting Ripley Lady Blue Jays in five innings Wednesday.

Thompson and Marcella Gifford each had three RBI as the Lady Royals ran their winning streak to five games.

Gifford picked up her fifth win of the season.

Mason County (18-13) will travel to Claryville today to play the Campbel County Lady Camels. The first pitch is scheduled at 6 p.m.

Lady Saints beat Lady Saints 14-1 in five innings

The Mason County Lady Royals celebrated Senior Night and extended their winning streak to a season-high four games with a 14-1 victory over the St. Patrick Lady Saints in five innings Tuesday at the Tom Browning Boys and Girls Club.

Kenzie Gulley went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, a stolen base, three runs scored and four RBI for the Lady Royals.

Teammate Shelby Thompson had three RBI.

Delana Rigg and Olivia Hughes combined for a two-hitter.

Caroline Poczatek drove in the Lady Saints' run.

Mason County (17-13) will host Ripley Wednesday at 5 p.m.

St. Patrick (5-11) plays at Bellevue Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Lady Royals beat West Carter 12-5, host Keith Carver Classic today

The Mason County Lady Royals snapped a two-game losing streak with a 12-5 victory over the West Carter Lady Comets Friday.

Shelby Thompson, Kenzie Gulley and Kylah Turner had two RBI each. 

Marcella Gifford threw a five-hitter striking out six and walking six.

Mason County (11-12) will host the Keith Carver Classic today. Here is the schedule:

2 p.m. Mason County vs. Holy Cross

4 p.m. Holy Cross vs. Calvary Christian

6 p.m. Mason County vs. Calvary Christian
