Mason Co. boys golf team and St. Patrick's Rigg qualify for state
The Mason County boys golf team and St. Patrick junior Russell Rigg qualified for the state golf tournament with second place finishes today in the Region 8 tournament at Eagle Creek Country Club in Crittenden. Mason County had a team total of 325, 13 shots behind the champion, Pendleton County, and one shot ahead of Harrison County. The top two teams advance to the state tournament. Russell Rigg shot a 73 and took second place by winning the first hole of a sudden death playoff. Zach Wright of Pendleton County won the individual title with a 71.
Mason County was led by Bradley Litzinger with a 76. Tanner Walton shot a 79. Eric White had an 82, Jackson Frame an 88 and Josh Harris a 91. The top four scores are used for the team total. St. Patrick had a team total of 370. The boys state golf tournament is Oct. 5-7 at Bowling Green Country Club.

Royals end regular season with a win over Paris at Laurel Oaks
The Mason County boys golf team ended the regular season today with a 163-197 win over Paris on the back nine at Laurel Oaks Golf Club. Tanner Walton was the medalist with a 2-over-par 38. Josh Harris was next with a 41. Jackson Frame, Eric White and Connor Osborne each shot a 42. The Royals head to the regional tournament Monday at Eagle Creek Golf Course in Grant County with a 10-1 record.
The Mason County girls golf team ended the regular season with 13-0 record after a forfeit win over Bishop Brossart. The girls regional golf tournament is Monday at Houston Oaks Golf Course in Paris.

Mason County boys and girls golf teams win at Adams County Country Club
The Mason County boys golf team beat West Union 131 to 142 Wednesday at the Adams County Country Club. Mason County was one-under-par as a team. Corey Richmond of West Union was the medalist with a two-under-par 31. Mason County was lead by 8th grader Jackson Frame with a 32. Tanner Walton, Josh Harris and Eric White each shot a 33. The Royals improve to 6-1.
The Mason County girls shot a season-low 154 to beat Peebles (180) and West Union (212) at the Adam County Country Club. Mason County junior Tiara Harris was the medalistwith a 35. Lauren Vice and Bethany Foister both shot a 39. The Lady Royals are 9-0.

Royals and Lady Royals win tri-matches
The Mason County boys golf team won a tri-match versus Campbell County and Fleming County Wednesday. Mason County had a team total of 160. Fleming County finished second 12 shots back and Campbell County was third, 17 shots behind the Royals. Mason County sophomore Tanner Walton was the medalist with a 38. Bradley Litzinger shot a 40. Eric White and Josh Harris both shot a 41. The Royals are 3-1.
Mason County junior Bridgit Morris shot a 41 to claim medalist honors and lead the Lady Royals to a lopsided victory over Fleming County and North Adams. The Lady Royals had a team total of 177. Fleming County and North Adams tied for second at 292. Tiara Harris and Bethany Foister both shot a 45, and Christen Cropper had a 46. The Lady Royals are 4-0.

Three local golfers winners on Northern Ky's 7-Up Junior Golf Tour
Three local golfers- Tyler Lippert, Tanner Walton and Lauren Vice- were winners at the Tates Creek Golf Course tournament on Northern Kentucky's 7-Up Junior Golf Tour Tuesday. Lippert tied for first in the boys' 11 and under division with a 49. Tanner Walton shot a 79 and won the boys' 14-15 Division. Lauren Vice won the girls' Wie division with an 88. Jackson Frame was third in the boys' 12-13 division. Eric White tied for fifth place and Russell Rigg was seventh in the boys' 16-18 division. Tiara Harris was third and Christen Cropper was fifth in the girls' Annkia division. Here is a link to the results.
