Lady Royals rally for a 57-47 victory over Bracken County

Amirah Reed scored 15 of her game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter and Lexi Young finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds to propel the undefeated Mason County Lady Royals to a 57-47 come-from-behind win over the Bracken County Lady Bears on Tuesday night in Brooksville.

Mason County (7-0) trailed by nine points in the second quarter and was down 42-39 with 5:55 remaining in the fourth quarter. 

A 13-1 run with Reed scoring all 13 of Mason County's points gave the Lady Royals a 52-43 lead with 2:33 left.

There were four ties and nine lead changes in the game.

Nichole Archibald led Bracken County (4-2) in scoring with 15.

The Lady Royals will travel to Mt. Sterling on Friday to play Great Crossing in the Gateway Holiday Classic at Montgomery County.

The Lady Bears will play at St. Henry on Friday night.

Lady Royals beat Bracken County

Amirah Reed scored 17 points, Lexi Young tossed in 15 points and Adrienne Downs-Perry added 11 points to lead the Mason County Lady Royals to a 56-45 win over the Bracken County Lady Bears on Monday night in Brooksville. 

Mason County took control of the game with a 19-3 run from late in the third quarter to early in the fourth quarter.

Nichole Archibald and Ella Johnson scored 17 points apiece for Bracken County (2-2).

Mason County (1-1) will play Bryan Station in the Mike Murphy Champions Classic at The Fieldhouse on Friday night.

Lady Royals lose to Bracken County for the first time since 2014

The Mason County Lady Royals scored just two points in the second quarter and lost to the Bracken County Lady Bears 38-32 at The Igloo on Monday night.

It was Bracken County's first win over Mason County since the championship game of the 2014 39th District Tournament. The Lady Royals had won 13 straight over the Lady Bears.

Mason County (8-12) led 14-10 at the end of the first quarter, but only scored 18 points the rest of the game.

Bracken County (13-10) led 19-16 at halftime and 28-22 at the end of the third quarter. 

Nichole Archibald had 13 points for the Lady Bears who ran their winning streak to four games. They will host St. Patrick on Tuesday night.

Sarah Payne made four 3-pointers and had 13 points for Mason County.

The Lady Royals will travel to Covington on Saturday to play the Notre Dame Academy Pandas.

Lady Royals outscore Lady Bears 9-0 in fourth quarter for a 33-31 win

The Mason County Lady Royals outscored the Bracken County Lady Bears 9-0 in the fourth quarter to rally for a 33-31 win tonight at The Fieldhouse.

With Mason County trailing 31-30, Macey Littleton hit a three-pointer with 2:15 to play to give the Lady Royals their only lead of the game.

Bracken County missed a three-point shot at the buzzer.

It's the Lady Royals' 13th straight win over the Lady Bears.

Littleton led Mason County (2-2) in scoring with 13 points.

Nicole Archibald scored 15 points for Bracken County (2-3).

The Lady Royals' next game is Saturday vs. Newport Central Catholic in the St. Elizabeth Healthcare Sports Medicine 9 vs. 10 Region Challenge at Bracken County. 

The Lady Bears play at Eastern Brown Wednesday night.

Lady Saints advance with a 41-31 victory over the Lady Bears

The St. Patrick Lady Saints outscored the Bracken County Lady Bears 12-4 in the fourth quarter to win 41-31 in a 39th District semifinal game at The Fieldhouse tonight.

St. Patrick junior Allison Hughes scored a game-high 17 points.

Eighth-grader Nicole Archibald led Bracken County in scoring with 12 points.

The Lady Saints will play the Mason County Lady Royals in the district championship game Thursday night.
