Lady Royals 14th, Royals 19th at Meet of Champions

The Mason County Lady Royals took 14th place and the Mason County Royals finished in 19th place in the Meet of Champions cross country meets Saturday at Masterson Station Park in Lexington Saturday.

Freshman Hayden Faris led the Lady Royals with a 23rd place finish in 21:13.66.

Sophomore Connor Linville led the Royals with a 33rd place finish in 17.12.79.

St. Patrick junior Paco Franco finished 77th in 18:00.77.

The Mason County Middle School girls team took fifth place in the middle school meet. That's the highest finish at the middle school level in school history.

Lady Royals, Polar Bears, Jefferson and Perry are Area 7 Champions

The Mason County Lady Royals, the Bracken County Polar Bears, Morgan County junior Kailee Perry and Bracken County junior Jared Jefferson won Area 7 championships Saturday at the Mason County cross country course.

The Mason County Lady Royals won the girls team title with 50 points. The Morgan County Lady Cougars finished second with 68 points. The Lady Royals were led by seventh grader Paige Decker with a fifth place finish in 20:06.61 and eighth grader Alyssa Bisotti in ninth place in 20:37.54.

Perry won the girls individual championship in 18:45.82.

The Bracken County Polar Bears took the boys team championship with 67 points. The Russell Red Devils were second, 10 points behind Bracken County.

Jefferson won the boys individual championship in 16:13.28.

Mason County sophomore Connor Linville finished sixth in 17:04.09 and Bracken County junior Brandon Cox was seventh in 17:18.80.

Lady Royals 4th in Greater Louisville Classic

The Mason County Lady Royals cross country team finished fourth in the Greater Louisville Classic Saturday.

There were 51 teams and 356 runners in the girls varsity race.

The Lady Royals had five runners in the top 100 with eighth grader Alyssa Bisotti leading the way with a 43rd place finish in 20:45.81.

Seventh grader Paige Decker was 50th in 20:59.17. 

Freshman Hayden Faris was 68th in 21:20.61. 

Eighth grader Kylee Howe was 87th in 21:35.39.

Seventh grader Elizabeth Lavinder was 91st 21:38.59. 

Mason County was 44th in the boys varsity race. Connor Linville was the Royals' top runner in 73rd place in 17:28.46.

Lady Royals win Mason County XC Invitational,

The Mason County Lady Royals cross country team won the Mason County Invitational Saturday.

The Lady Royals edged the Bishop Brossart Lady 'Stangs 106-111. Eighteen schools competed in the girls race.

Seventh grader Paige Decker led the Lady Royals with a 10th place finish in 20:32.

Rounding out the scoring for Mason County were freshman Hayden Faris in 18th place (20:55.40),
eighth graders Kylee Howe 25th (21:21.60) and Alyssa Bisotti 26th (21:25.50) and seventh grader Elizabeth Lavinder 33rd (21:57.20).

Morgan County junior Kailee Perry won the girls race in 18:58.1.

Bracken County junior Jared Jefferson won the boys in 16:16.2.

Fairfield-Leesburg won the boys team title by 32 points.

Bracken County finished in sixth place and Mason County took 10th place.

Sophomore Conner Linville was Mason County's top runner with a sixth place finish (16:48.4).

Bracken County junior Brandon Cox took seventh place (16:52.9).

St. Patrick eighth grader Allison Hughes won the mixed 5K junior varsity race in 22:24.4.

Bourbon Co. sweeps Mason Co. Comers, Connor Linville wins boys' race

The Bourbon County girls and boys cross country teams swept the Mason County All Comers Meet #1 Tuesday evening.

Mason County sophomore Connor Linville won the boys race. 

Mason County finished second in the both the girls and boys standings.

Lady Royals, Royals, Faris and Linville winners at Ripley XC Invitational

The Mason County girls and boys cross country teams swept the team titles and Mason County freshman Hayden Faris and Mason County sophomore Connor Linville won the individual races Saturday at the Ripley Invitational.

The Lady Royals won by 21 points over Georgetown, and the Royals bested Felicity by 18 points.

Faris won the girls' race in a time of 21:52.00. 

Mason County junior Olivia O'Hearn took ninth place (23:46.00)

Connor Linville was the boys' winner with of a time of 17:33.00. 

Another Mason County sophomore- Isaiah Riggs- finished second (17:54.00)

Mason County freshman Carson Adams had a ninth place finish (18:40.00).

Mason County girls 2nd, boys 4th in XC season opener

The Mason County Lady Royals started the cross country season Saturday with a runner-up finish in the Bourbon County Colonel Opener.

The Mason County Royals took fourth place.

Freshman Hayden Faris led the Lady Royals with a fourth place finish (20:32:30). Seventh grader Paige Decker took seventh place (20:43.30). 

Sophomore Connor Linville led the Royals with a third place finish (16:55.10).

Lady Royals qualify for state XC meet with a 3rd place finish in region

The Mason County Lady Royals qualified for the Class 2A state cross country meet with a third place finish in the Region 6 meet Saturday at Boyd County.

The Ashland Kittens won the region by two points over the Russell Lady Red Devils. Mason County finished 12 points behind Ashland. 

Mason County was led by 8th grader Hayden Faris with an 8th place finish in a time of 21:11.14.

Three other Mason County runners finished in the Top 20- Rheagan Sizemore (14th), Kylee Howe (16th) and Nichole Caba (17th).

Fleming County senior Olivia Leet took 6th place with a time of 20:47.51 and qualified for the state meet.

Mason County freshmen Connor Linville and Isaiah Riggs and Fleming County junior Robert Applegate are individual qualifiers for the state meet. Linville took 8th place in a time of 18:00.55.

The state meet is Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. The boys Class 2A meet starts at 11:30 a.m. followed by the girls Class 2A meet at 12:15 p.m.

Lady Royals win Boyd Co. XC Invitational, Rheagan Sizmore individual champion

The Mason County Lady Royals cross country team won the Boyd County Invitational Saturday, and Mason County senior Rheagan Sizemore won the individual championship with a time of 21:22.87.

Mason County eighth grader Hayden Faris finished in fourth place with a time of 21:44.28.

Fleming County senior Olivia Leet took sixth place with a time of 22:08.76.

Boyd County won the boys meet. Mason County finished in sixth place and was led by two freshmen- Connor Linville in third place (18:07.61) and Isaiah Riggs in fifth place (18:30.83).

Boyd County will host the Area Championship on October 15.

Lexington Christian boys and girls sweep Mason County All Comers XC meet

The Lexington Christian boys and girls cross country teams swept the Mason County All Comers meet Tuesday night.

The Mason County girls were the runners-up. The Mason County boys took third place.

The Lexington Christian boys are ranked No.1 in Class A, the girls team is No. 2.

Lexington Christian had the top three finishers in the boys race- Adam Huff  (16:52), Andrew Madden (17:04) and Connor Hayes  (17:08).

Manchester junior Ethan Pennywitt took fourth place (17:25) and Fleming County junior Robert Applegate was fifth (18:07).

Mason County was led by freshman Connor Linville in ninth place (18:38).

Lexington Christian sophomore Kendall Hayes won the girls race (19:35), Bourbon County eighth grader Ximena Tamariz was second (21:06) and Fleming County senior Olivia Leet was third (21:49).

Eighth grader Hayden Faris led Mason County with an eighth place finish (23:40).

Lady Royals, Sizemore win Ripley XC Invitational

The Mason County Lady Royals cross country team won the Ripley Invitational Saturday. Mason County senior Rheagan Sizemore was the girls  individual winner with a time of  21:32.

Mason County had two freshman runners in the Top 10 of the boys race- Connor Linville was 9th (18:30) and Isaiah Riggs was 10th (18:36).

Mason County Girls are Back-To-Back XC Region Champions

The Mason County girls cross country team won the Region 6 championship for the second straight year. The Lady Royals edged Russell by three points today at Masterson Station Park in Lexington.

Mason County was led by junior Rheagan Sizemore with a fifth place finish in a time of 20:42.42.
Three other Mason County runners finished in the top 20: seventh grader Hayden Faris was 11th (21:42.57), sophomore Reagan Bierley was 16th (22:16.74) and freshman Abigail Dawson was 18th (22:34.47), 

Fleming County junior Olivia Leet, the region champion the last two years, finished third with a time of 20:10.50. Fleming County took fourth place. 

In the boys race, Mason County finished fourth and Fleming County seventh. Mason County was led by senior Tanner Kirkland in 14th place (18:38.33) and eighth grader Connor Linville in 19th place (18:49.94). Fleming County sophomore Robert Applegate took 12th place (18:16.35).
