Lady Royals runners-up at region, qualified for the first round of the state golf tournament

The Mason County Lady Royals qualified for the first round of the state golf tournament by finishing as the runner-up at the Region 12 Tournament on Monday at Eagle Trace Golf Course in Morehead.

The Montgomery County Lady Indians won the region championship with a team of score 331.

Mason County finished with a score of 386, edging the Boyd County Lady Lions by two shots.

Only the champion and runner-up advance to the first round of the state tournament.

Sydney Ullery led the Lady Royals with an 87 followed by Bentley Shepherd (90), Olivia Hughes (102), Amirah Reed (107) and Taylor Schroer (121).

The top four scores are used for the team total.

The first round of the state tournament will be played on Monday at Winchester Country Club.

Volleyball, golf and soccer recaps

The Mason County Lady Royals volleyball team had its five-match winning streak snapped by a 3-0 loss to the Nicholas County Lady Jackets on Tuesday night in Carlisle.

The set scores were 25-14, 25-11 and  25-9.

Halle Pfeffer had 17 digs and Hayley Allison had 16 digs.

Mason County (10-8) will host St. Patrick on Thursday night.

The Mason County Lady Royals shot a 180 and was edged by the Pendleton County Lady Wildcats by one shot at Laurel Oaks Golf Course on Tuesday.

Sydney Ullery led the Lady Royals with a 42. Bentley Shepherd shot a 43, Olivia Hughes a 46 and Taylor Schroer a 49.

The Lady Royals golf team will compete vs. Bath County, Rowan County, Fleming County and Ashland at Eagle Trace on Thursday.

The Mason County Royals soccer team was shutout by the Russell Red Devils on Tuesday night at Mason County.

The Royals (5-7) will host Calvary Christian next Tuesday night.

Ullery is medalist as the Lady Royals win a tri-match vs. Pendleton County and Fleming County

Sydney Ullery shot a 38 to claim medalist honors as the Mason County Lady Royals defeated Pendleton County and Fleming County in a tri-match on Wednesday at Laurel Oaks Golf Course.

Mason County had a team score of 175. Olivia Hughes shot a 43, Bentley Shepherd a 45 and Amirah Reed and Taylor Schroer each carded 49s.

The Lady Royals will play in the Kentucky 2A Championships state tournament on Monday at Owensboro Country Club.

Lady Royals finish in third place in Montgomery County Invitational

The Mason County Lady Royals took third place in the Montgomery County Invitational on Saturday at Irish Hills Golf Course in Mt. Sterling with a team score of 371 .

Mason County was led by Sydney Ullery with an 82 and Bentley Shepherd with an 83.

The Lady Royals finished in sixth place in the Crosstown Shootout at A.J. Jolly Golf Course last Thursday.

Ullery and Shepherd closed out the season at first round of state golf tournament

Mason County golfers Sydney Ullery and Bentley Shepherd closed out the season at the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac KHSAA State Golf First Round on Tuesday.

Ullery shot a 90 and Shepherd carded a 98 at Eagle's Nest Country Club in Somerset.

The highest score for individual qualifers to advance to the final round in Bowling Green next week was 85.

The boys' first round will be played on Wednesday.

Mason County finishes third at girls' region golf tourney, Ullery and Shepherd qualify for state as individuals

Mason County golfers Sydney Ullery and Bentley Shepherd have qualified for the state tournament as individuals.

Mason County had a team score of 382 and took third place at the Region 12 Tournament on Wednesday at Irish Hills Golf Course in Mt. Sterling.

Region Champion Montgomery County (321) and the runner-up Boyd County (374) are the team qualifiers for state.

Ullery shot an 83 and Shepherd carded a 94. They move on to the Leachman Buick-Cadillac/KHSAA State Golf First Round at Eagles Nest Country Club in Somerset on Tuesday.

Taylor Schroer shot a career-best 95 and first-year golfer Kenzie Gulley added a 110 to round out the Lady Royals' scoring.

The region tournament was originally scheduled on Tuesday but was pushed back a day due to rain.

Lady Royals win 2A Section 6 qualifier and the MCIT

The Mason County Lady Royals have qualified for the Kentucky 2A Championships state golf tournament for the third time in four seasons.

The Lady Royals won both the 2A Section 6 qualifier and the Mason County Invitational Tournament Cup at Laurel Oaks Golf Course on Wednesday with a team score of  377.

Sydney Ullery led Mason County with an 83. Bentley Shepherd followed with an 84. Taylor Schroer carded a 97 and Kenzie Gulley added a 113.

The Kentucky 2A Championships state golf tournament will be played on September 9 at Owensboro Country Club.

Ullery is the medalist as Lady Royals win tri-match

Sydney Ullery won medalist honors with a 1-under par 35 on the back nine at Laurel Oaks Golf Course and led the Mason County Lady Royals to a victory in a tri-match vs. Fleming County and Lewis County on Monday.

Bentley Shepherd shot a 40 and Kenzie Gulley added a 51 to give Mason County a score of 126.

Fleming County finished second at 136 nd Lewis County had a team score of 159.

The Lady Royals will host the Mason County Invitational Tournament at Laurel Oaks on Wednesday. The tournament will also be the Section 6 qualifier for the Kentucky 2A Championships.

Lady Royals finish in third place at Harrison County Invitational

The Mason County Lady Royals took third place at the Harrison County Invitational at Cynthiana Country Club on Wednesday with a team score of 414.

The Montgomery County Lady Indians won the tournament with a score of 327.

Mason County was led by Bentley Shepherd with a 91. Sydney Ullery carded a 93. Taylor Schroer shot a 109 and Kenzie Gulley folllowed with a 121.

The Lady Royals will travel to Mt. Sterling on Saturday for the Montgomery County Invitational at Irish Hills.

Shepherd is medalist, Lady Royals 2nd in tri-match at Fleming County Golf Association

Bentley Shepherd won medalist honors with a 41 to lead the Mason County Lady Royals to a second place finish in a tri-match at Fleming County Golf Association on Monday. 

Fleming County won with a three-player score of 142. Mason County carded a 149 and Lewis County had a score of 164.

Sydney Ullery shot a 44 for the Lady Royals. Kenzie Gulley added a 64.

Mason County will host Lewis County and Rowan County in a tri-match at Laurel Oaks Golf Course on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Lady Royals opened the golf season on Wednesday vs. Fleming County

The Mason County Lady Royals golf team opened the season on Wednesday with a nine-hole match vs. the Fleming County Lady Panthers at Laurel Oaks Golf Course.

The Lady Panthers defeated the Lady Royals 205-211.

Bentley Shepherd led Mason County with a 44.

The Lady Royals and Lady Panthers will meet again on Monday at Fleming County Golf Association.

Lady Royals win tri match at Laurel Oaks

The Mason County Lady Royals won a home tri-match against Fleming County and Lewis County at Laurel Oaks Golf Course Wednesday.

Mason County had a team score of 182, followed by Fleming County at 211 and Lewis County with a score of 221.

Morgan Parker led the Lady Royals with a 43. Bentley Shepherd carded a 45 and Sydney Ullery and Maura Hartman each shot a 47.

Fleming County senior Sadie Price was the medalist with a 40.

Lady Royals win a quad match at Fleming County

The Mason County Lady Royals golf team traveled to Flemingsburg Monday and won a quad match.

The Lady Royals had a team score of 185, followed by Fleming County (191), Nicholas County (219) and Lewis County (227).

Morgan Parker led Mason County with a 45. Bentley Shepherd and Sydney Ullery each shot a 46 and Maura Hartman carded a 48.

Lady Royals win tri-match vs. Fleming County and Lewis County

The Mason County Lady Royals won a tri-match against Fleming County and Lewis County Monday at Laurel Oaks Golf Course.

Mason County finished with a team score of 181. Fleming County was second at 198. Lewis County's team score was 233.

Sydney Ullery led the Lady Royals with a 40 followed by Morgan Parker (43), Bentley Shepherd (46) and Morgan Schroer (52).

Sadie Price shot a 37 to win medalist honors.

Lady Royals finish second in quad match at Laurel Oaks

The Mason County Lady Royals finished second in a nine-hole quad match on the front side of Laurel Oaks Golf Course Wednesday with a team score of 134. 

The Pendleton County Lady Wildcats won (124), Lewis County was third (156) and Nicholas County finished fourth (162).

Sydney Ullery led the Lady Royals with a career-low 39. Maura Hartman followed with a 47 and Morgan Parker added a 47 to round out the team score.

Taylor Schroer shot a 50. Bentley Shepherd carded a 54 and Ainsley Robert finished with a 61.

Lady Royals fourth at Montgomery County Invitational

The Mason County Lady Royals finished fourth at the Montgomery County Invitational at Irish Hills Golf and Country Club in Mt. Sterling Saturday with a team score of 366.

The Lady Royals were led by Morgan Parker with an 85. Sydney Ullery shot an 88, followed by Maura Hartman with a 92 Taylor Schroer with a 102 and Bentley Shepherd with a 105.

Lady Royals are runners-up in Mason County Invitational

The Mason County Lady Royals were the runners-up in the Mason County Invitational at Laurel Oaks Golf Course Wednesday with a team score of 354.

The Montgomery County Lady Indians won the tournament with a team score of 358.

Sydney Ullery led Mason County with an 84. Morgan Parker's 87, Bentley Shepherd's 93 and Maura Hartman's 94 rounded out the team score. Taylor Schroer shot a 101.

The Lady Royals will travel to Mt. Sterling for the Montgomery County Invitational at Irish Hill Golf and Country Club.

Lady Royals open golf season by winning the Harrison County Fillies Invitational for second straight year

The Mason County Lady Royals golf team won the Harrison County Fillies Invitational at Cynthiana Country Club for the second straight year Monday.

The Lady Royals had a team score of 374 in their season opener.

Morgan Parker and Bentley Shepherd each shot an 89. Maura Parker followed with a 97, Sydney Ullery carded a 99 and Taylor Schroer shot a 120. The four best scores are used for the team total.

The Lady Royals will play in the Rowan County Invitational at Eagle Trace Thursday. The tournament will determine the Kentucky 2A Championships Section 6 champion.

Mason County finishes 9th in girls' state golf tournament

The Mason County Lady Royals finished in ninth place at the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA Girls' State Golf Championship today at Bowling Green Country Club.

The Lady Royals shot 395 in the second round for a 36-hole total of 788. 

Madison Central won the state championship at 634.

Mason County senior Macey Littleton shot a 90 for the second straight day. Morgan Parker followed with a 96. Maura Hartman shot a 103, Bentley Shepherd a 106 and Sydney Ullery a 117.

The Lady Royals were Region 12 champions and qualified for the state finals by finishing third in the state first round.

Lady Royals shot 393 in opening round of state golf tournament

The Mason County Lady Royals shot 393 today in the opening round of the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA Girls' State Golf Championship at Bowling Green Country Club.

Macey Littleton led the Lady Royals with a 90. Morgan Parker shot a 94, Bentley Shepherd a 102, and Maura Hartman and Sydney Ullery each shot a 107.

Madison Central shot 320 and has a seven-shot lead over Marshall County.

The final round will be played on Saturday.
