Kaleb Coleman Signs to Play Golf at Asbury University

Mason County senior Kaleb Coleman signed today to play golf at Asbury University in Wilmore.
Coleman was a member of the Mason County region championship team that finished third in the state tournament.

"The reason why I chose Asbury is because I think it's an excellent school," Coleman said. "I love their programs; the atmosphere of the school is amazing,"

Coleman said he is thinking about majoring in psychology.

Mason Co. Boys 3rd, Tyler Lippert T8 in State Tourney

The Mason County Royals finished third in the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA Boys Golf Championship. Mason County shot a 14-over 302 in the second round today at Bowling Green Country Club for a two-day total of 22-over 598. St. Xavier won with a state record 19-under 557 total. Franklin County was second at 18-over. Mason County senior Tyler Lippert shot a one-under 71 for the second straight day and tied for eighth place. B.J. Knox shot a 76 and tied for 19th place. Chandler Clark shot a 73 and tied for 29th place. Kaleb Coleman carded an 82 and tied for 54th place. Bryan Walton shot an 84 and tied for 77th place. Franklin County junior C.J. Jones won the individual state championship. Jones defeated Lyon County sophomore Cullan Brown in a playoff after they finished regulation play tied at eight-under. Brown fired a five-under 67 in the final round.

Royals in 3rd Place, 18 Shots Back After 1st Round of State Tournament

The Mason County Royals are in 3rd place, 18 shots off the lead, after the first round of the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA State Golf Championship at Bowling Green Country Club.

Mason County had a total of eight-over 296. St. Xavier tops the leaderboard at 10-under 278. Franklin County is in second place at five-over 293.

B.J. Knox and Tyler Lippert led Mason County with one-under 71s and are tied for 12th place. Kaleb Coleman and Chandler Clark shot five-over 77s. Bryan Walton shot an 88.

St. Xavier senior Allen Hamilton is the individual leader at seven-under 65. The final round is Wednesday

Mason Co. Boys Tee Times in Leachman Buck GMC Cadillac KHSAA Golf Championship

The Boys Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac/KHSAA Golf State Tournament will be played Tuesday, October 6 and Wednesday, October 7 at Bowling Green Country Club. A practice round is scheduled Monday, October 5. Tee times are set for the first round. Mason County's five golfers will begin on No. 10. Here are their tee times (Central Time):

Kaleb Coleman 12:51 p.m.
Chandler Clark 1 p.m.
B.J. Knox 1:09 p.m.
Tyler Lippert 1:18 p.m.

Lippert, Mason County's No.1 player and 8th Region champion. is pairing with Bullitt East junior Zach Taylor and Covington Catholic junior Neal Schoer.

Tyler Lippert and the Royals Win Region Titles

Mason County senior Tyler Lippert birdied his final three holes to win the individual 8th Region championship and lead the Royals to the team title today at Northern Kentucky Golf Club in Pendleton County. Lippert fired an even par 72. B.J. Knox finished third with a 75. Chandler Clark followed with a 79, Kaleb Coleman carded an 83 and Bryan Walton shot an 89. The top four scores are used for the team score. Mason County won the team title with a total of 309. Bourbon County was the runner-up (325) and also qualified for the state tournament next week in Bowling Green. Grant County was third (330).

Tyler Lippert Fires a School Record -7 29 to Lead Royals to Win

Tyler Lippert fired a school record seven-under par 29 at Cynthiana Country Club to lead the Mason County Royals to a 142-160 win over the Harrison County Thorobreds today. Chandler Clark shot a 36, B.J. Knox a 37 and Kaleb Coleman a 40.

Royals beat Pendleton County at Northern Kentucky Golf Club

The Mason County Royals beat the Pendleton County Wildcats 150-163 today on the back nine at Northern Kentucky Golf Club. B.J. Knox was the medalist with a one-under 35. Chandler Clark followed with a 37 and Tyler Lippert and Kaleb Coleman shot 39s.

Royals Beat Colonels by 3 Shots at Houston Oaks

The Mason County Royals beat the Bourbon County Colonels 174-177 today at Houston Oaks Golf Course in Paris. Tyler Lippert was the medalist with a one-over 37. Kaleb Coleman carded a 45 and Bryan Walton and Josh Coleman shot 46s.

Royals Win Laurel Oaks Open

The Mason County Royals hosted and won the Laurel Oaks Open today at Laurel Oaks Golf Course.
The Royals had a team score of 300. The Ryle Raiders were second at 303. Mason County senior Tyler Lippert won medalist honors in a four-way playoff. Lippert, his teammate, Chandler Clark, along with Ryan Clements of Ryle and Michael Sikra of St. Henry were tied at the end of regulation at two-under 70. Lippert won the playoff with a birdie on No. 10.

Royals T5 In Dunbar Classic

The Mason County Royals tied for fifth place in the Dunbar Classic today at Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington. Tyler Lippert led the Royals with a one-under 71 and tied for fifth place in the individual standings. Chandler Clark shot a 76.  B.J. Knox followed with a 79, Bryan Walton added an 88 and Kaleb Coleman shot a 90.

Mason Co Boys Beat Bourbon Co. at Laurel Oaks

The Mason County Royals defeated the Bourbon County Colonels 146-157 on the front nine at Laurel Oaks Golf Course today. Chandler Clark was the medalist with a three-under 33. Tyler Lippert followed with a 34. B.J. Knox carded a 37, Kaleb Coleman a 42 and Bryan Walton a 45.

The Mason County Royals tied for fifth place in the Steve Flesch/Covington Catholic Invitational today at Summit Hills Country Club in Independence. The Royals had a team score of 311. Louisville St. Xavier won with a total of 289. Tyler Lippert was the runner-up with a one-under 69. B.J. Knox shot a 75, Chandler Clark a 79, Bryan Walton an 88 and Kaleb Coleman a 99.

Mason Co. 10th in Kentucky Invitational Tournament

The Mason County Royals took 10th place in the 52nd Knights Travel Kentucky Invitational today at Harmony Landing Country Club in Goshen. The Royals had a team total of 310. St. Xavier's "Green" team won with a tournament record 287. Mason County was led by Tyler Lippert  who finished 14th with a one-over 72. B.J. Knox shot a 73. Chandler Clark had a 78. Kaleb Coleman and Bryan Walton shot 87s.

Royals Win the Mason Co./St.Patrick Invitational; Lippert is Medalist

Tyler Lippert fired a three-under 69 to claim medalist honors and lead the Mason County Royals to a victory in the Mason County/St. Patrick Invitational Tournament today at the Maysville Country Club. Mason County had a total of 298. West Jessamine was second at 311. B.J. Knox was the runner-up with a 73. Chandler Clark shot a 75. Kaleb Coleman had an 81 and Bryan Walton shot a 92. The top four scores are used for the team score.

Royals Win Greenup Co. Invitational

The Mason County boys golf won the Greenup County Invitational Tournament today at Hidden Cove Golf Course. Mason County had a team total of 315. Ashland was second at 320 and Elliot County took third place at 326. Tyler Lippert was the individual runner-up with an even par 72.
Chandler Clark shot a three-over 75 to take fifth place. B.J. Knox shot an 83, Bryan Walton followed with an 85 and Kaleb Coleman added an 88.

Royals Open Season by Winning Pendleton Co. Invitational Tournament

The Mason County Royals opened the golf season today with a 31-shot win in the Pendleton County Invitational Tournament. Tyler Lippert was the medalist with a 2-under 70. B.J. Knox was the runner-up with a 1-over 73. Chandler Clark shot an 81, Bryan Walton carded an 82 and Kaleb Coleman added an 83.

Mason Co. Royals Qualify for State with Region Runner-up

The Mason County Royals qualified for the Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac/KHSAA State Golf Tournament with a runner-up finish in the Region 8 tournament today at Eagle Creek in Dry Ridge. Bourbon County won the region with a total of 304. Mason County had a team score of 313, three shots ahead of Grant County. The top two teams in each region go to state. Highlands senior Parker Harris was the individual region champion with a one-under 69. Mason County junior Tyler Lippert was the individual runner-up with a 70.
