Volleyball and soccer recaps

The Mason County Lady Royals volleyball team defeated the East Carter Lady Raiders 3-0 on Thursday at The Fieldhouse.

The scores were 23-18, 25-15 and 25-18. Mylie Padgett had nine kills. Hailey Allison had 12 digs and four service aces. Halle Pfeffer had 10 digs and two service aces.

It was Mason County's second straight victory. The Lady Royals beat the Lewis County Lady Lions 3-0 on Tuesday in Vanceburg. The scores were 25-21, 25-18 and 25-17. Makaylynn Crabtree had 10 kills. Pfeffer and Allison had 14 and 13 digs, respectively, and Kyleigh Kirk led the team with four aces.

Mason County (7-7) will play the Fleming County Lady Panthers in Flemingsburg on Monday.

The St. Patrick Lady Saints defeated the Bath County Lady Wildcats 3-0. 

St. Patrick (5-6) will play Calvary Christian in the All "A" Classic 10th Region Tournament on Saturday at noon at Bracken County.

The Mason County Royals soccer team lost to the Rowan County Vikings 2-0 on Thursday in Morehead. 

The Royals (4-3) will play at Villa Madonna on Saturday at noon.

Lady Royals defeat West Union 69-46

The Mason County Lady Royals used balanced scoring to defeat the West Union Lady Dragons 69-46 on Monday night at the Lady Royals Gym.

Lexi Young paced Mason County with 13 points, Amirah Reed and Adrienne Downs-Perry followed with 12 points apiece and Kyleigh Kirk added 11 points.

Madison Stout led West Union in scoring with 13 points and Annabelle McIntosh tossed in 12.

The Lady Royals (16-7) will host Woodford County on Wednesday night for their final home game of the regular season.

The Lady Dragons (10-10) will be at home vs. Western Latham on Wednesday night.
