Mason County takes third place at Fall Shoot

The Mason County archery team finished in third place at the Mason County Fall Shoot on Saturday at The Fieldhouse.

Mason County had a team score of 3,223. Fleming County won the tournament (3,245) and Great Crossing was the runner-up (3,243)

Great Crossing freshman Tinsley Smith was the individual champion. She had a score of 293 with 23 Tens.

Mason County senior Bryce Pollitt, a co-state champion last season, was the overall runner-up and boys' champion on Saturday (283 with 16 Tens).

Mason County senior Dalton Hargett tied for third overall (279 with 13 Tens).

Royal archers win again

The Mason County archery team won its second 3D tournament in as many weeks by posting a team score of 1,652 at the Crusader Quest NASPIBO 3D Challenge at Community Christian Academy in Independence on Saturday.

Conner finished second with a team score of 1,594.

Dillon Mitchell, shooting 291 with 23 Tens, was the overall individual winner.

Laurelle Setters was the girls' winner and was third overall. She shot 281 with 19 Tens. 

Dalton Hargett (280 with 18 Tens) was fourth overall and Bryce Pollitt (274 with 12 Tens) tied for seventh overall.

Royals win Mason County Winterfest NASP/IBO 3D Challenge

The Mason County archery team won the Mason County Winterfest NASP/IBO 3D Challenge on Saturday.

The Royals finished with a team score of 1,618. Bourbon County was the runner-up (1,598) and Fleming County took third place (1,594).

Mason County junior Bryce Pollitt was the individual champion with a score of 285. He had 19 Tens. 

Mason County freshman Dillon Mitchell (277 and 15 Tens) tied for fourth and Mason County junior Dalton Hargett (272 and 13 Tens) tied for eighth place.

Mason County boys' archery team is runner-up in region, qualifies for state, Gifford and Roberts also qualify for

The Mason County boys' archery team qualified for the KHSAA state tournament with a runner-up finish in the Region 7 Tournament today at Robertson County.

Two Mason County girls -- Laney Gifford and DeAnna Roberts -- qualified for the state tournament as individuals.

The Royals had a team score of 1930. Harrison County won the region championship with a team score of 1968.

Mason County was led by 8th grader Colton Kinney. He had a score of 279 with 11 Tens. Dalton Hargett and Jacob Brown followed with 277s. Hargett had 13 Tens and Brown had 12 Tens. 

Brown and Brad Kegley were named Academic Archers.

The Lady Royals finished third with a team score of 1873. Gifford led the way with a score of 280. She had 17 Tens. Roberts followed with a score of 277. She had 12 Tens.

Lindsey Saunders and Breanna Mellenkamp were named Academic Archers.
