Lady Royals edge Rowan County 1-0

Johnna Bush scored off an assist from Aubrey Gross and goalkeeper Eden Abshire had nine saves as the Mason County Lady Royals snapped a three-match losing streak with a 1-0 victory over the Rowan County Lady Vikings on Wednesday night in Morehead.

Mason County (5-6) will play at Russell on Monday night.

Volleyball and soccer recaps

The Mason County Lady Royals volleyball team rallied to beat the Fleming County Lady Panthers 2-1 on Monday night in Flemingsburg.

Fleming County took the first set 25-16, but the Lady Royals won the next two 25-20 and 25-22.

Mason County (8-7) will host Robertson County on Tuesday night.

Halle Pfeffer had 24 digs, Hayley Allison and Kennedy Bevins each had 14 digs and Kyleigh Kirk had 19 assists.

The Mason County Lady Royals soccer team lost to the East Carter Lady Raiders 5-3 on Monday at Grayson.

Eden Abshire scored two goals, Aubrey Gross added a goal and Harley Durham-Campbell assisted on all three goals.

The Lady Royals (4-4) will host the Bourbon County Lady Colonels on Wednesday night.

The Mason County Royals soccer team fell to the Montgomery County Indians 6-2 on Monday night at home.

Noah Gardner scored a goal and had an assist on a goal by Mason Tackett.

The Royals (4-5) will travel to Cynthiana on Tuesday to play the Harrison County Thorobreds.

The St. Patrick Saints soccer team lost to the Bishop Brossart Mustangs 12-0 on Monday night in Alexandria.

The Saints picked up their first win on Saturday by shutting out the Paris Greyhounds 5-0.

The Saints (1-5) will play at Ripley this Saturday.

Lady Royals defeat Fleming County 5-2

Harley Durham-Campbell scored two goals and had two assists to lead the Mason County Lady Royals to a 5-2 victory over the Fleming County Lady Panthers on Thursday night at home.

Aubrey Gross had a goal and an assist. Zoey Hamilton and Natalie Thurman each scored a goal. Madie Grutza and Eden Abshire each had an assist.

Mason County (4-3) will travel to Grayson on Monday, September 8 to play the East Carter Lady Raiders.

Lady Royals edge West Carter 2-1

Joanna Bush and Harley Durham-Campbell each scored a goal and the Mason County Lady Royals edged the West Carter Lady Comets 2-1 on Monday at home.

Aubrey Gross and Madie Grutza each had an assist.

Mason County (3-2) will play at Boyd County tonight.

Lady Royals shutout Pendleton County 4-0

Harley Durham-Campbell scored two goals and had an assist as the Mason County Lady Royals shutout the Pendleton County Lady Wildcats 4-0 on Wednesday in Falmouth.

Aubrey Gross and Jasilin Shields each scored a goal. Eden Abshire had two assists and Natalie Thurman had one assist. Goalkeeper Emma Sims had six saves.

Mason County (2-2) will be back in action on Monday at home vs. the West Carter Lady Comets.

Lady Royals snap skid with an 11-7 win over West Carter

Sydney Ullery had three RBI as the Mason County Lady Royals snapped a six-game losing streak with an 11-7 win over the West Carter Lady Comets on Thursday in Olive Hill.

Aubrey Gross had three hits including a double and a triple and scored three runs.

Kalyn Gallagher and Claire Miller had each two RBI.

Olivia Hughes got the win allowing seven runs on 10 hits while striking out eight and walking one in five innings. She also had two hits, drove in a run and scored two runs.

Mason County (5-8) will travel to Paris today to play the Bourbon County Lady Colonels.

Lady Royals fall to Bath County in 2A section semifinals

The Mason County Lady Royals fell behind 6-0 and lost to the Bath County Lady Wildcats 6-4 in the semifinals of the Kentucky 2A Championships Section 6 Tournament on Wednesday at home.

Bath County (7-6) scored five runs in the first inning and added an insurance run in the third inning.

Mason County (4-6) scored two runs in the fourth inning, a run in the fifth inning and a run in the sixth inning.

The Lady Royals outhit the Lady Wildcats 10-6, but committed three errors.

Kenzie Gulley, Aubrey Gross, Olivia Hughes and Sydney Ullery each had three hits for Mason County. Gulley, Gross and Ullery each drove in a run.

Bath County advances to the championship game to play the Rowan County Lady Vikings.

Mason County is scheduled to host the Bishop Brossart Lady 'Stangs today at 5 p.m.

Lady Royals shutout Nicholas County 10-0

Delana Rigg pitched a four-hitter and struck out 14 batters as the Mason County Lady Royals beat the Nicholas County Lady Jackets 10-0 in six innings on Friday in Carlisle.

Aubrey Gross had three hits and two RBI. Reese Hardeman had three hits and one RBI. Olivia Hughes, Karleigh Thomas and Reagan Workman each had two RBI.

Mason County (4-2) is scheduled to play three games in the Cal Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee next week.

Lady Royals get wins over Bracken County and Elliott County; Royals fall to Scott

The Mason County Lady Royals beat the Bracken County Lady Bears 7-3 on Friday and the Elliott County Lady Lions 15-1 in five innings on Saturday to run their record to 3-1.

Reese Hardeman had three hits, two RBI and scored three runs, Olivia Hughes was the winning pitcher and had two hits and two RBI and Aubrey Gross hit a solo home run in Friday's win.

Mason County scored 12 runs in the second inning of Saturday's game. Kylah Turner had three hits, three RBI and scored three runs and Hughes picked up her third win and went 3 for 4, drove in four runs and scored a run.

The Lady Royals play at Robertson County on Monday.

The Mason County Royals fell to 0-2 with a 3-1 loss to the Scott Eagles in Taylor Mill on Friday.

Mason County is scheduled to play its home opener on Monday vs. the Bishop Brossart Mustangs.

Durham-Campbell with a hat trick and an assist in Lady Royals 8-1 win over Paris

Harley Durham-Campbell had a hat trick and an assist as the Mason County Lady Royals ran their record to 4-0 with an 8-1 victory over the Paris Lady Hounds in Paris on Monday night.

Sarah Payne scored a goal and had two assists. Aubrey Gross had a goal and an assist. Adrienne Downs-Perry, Madie Grutza and Jayden Stahl each scored a goal. 

Durham-Campbell has scored 11 goals this season.

The Lady Royals will play their home opener on Saturday at 6 p.m. vs. Powell County.
