Sarah Mitchell signs to plat softball at Midway College

Mason County senior Sarah Mitchell signed today to play softball at Midway College. Mitchell has played every position for the Lady Royals expect for catcher. She had three hits and two RBI in the Lady Royals' win over St. Patrick in the 39th District Tournament Monday and was named to the All Tournament Team.
Mason County Coach Meredith Fraysure says Mitchell is a leader on the field and off.
"Often times, she's the very first person at practice, she's the very last person at practice," Fraysure said. "I can always rely on her to get things set. She gets her teammates moving. Playing-wise, I would say her strongest suit is her defense."
Midway College Coach Leigh Oakley says Mitchell will be one of 14 new players for the Eagles next season and everybody is going to be competing for playing time.
