Chris Lofton has been named one of the color commentators who will rotate on the University of Tennessee men's basketball radio broadcasts via the Vol Network.

Former Maysville Bulldogs basketball coach Lyle Dunbar passed away on Thursday. He was 90.
Dunbar, a member of the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame, was the coach at Maysville for the 1974-75 season.
He came here after coaching at Scottsville. Dunbar told me in a 2011 interview he was going to retire after the 1973-74 season, but while he was working as a tobacco adjuster and attending a tobacco meeting, he heard about the opening at Maysville, applied and got the job.
Dunbar started three freshmen—Cere Myrick, Eddie Davis and Tim Gilbert.
The Bulldogs lost to Fleming County in the semifinals of the 39th District Tournament and finished the season with a 14-13 record.
Dunbar took the coaching job at Christian County in 1975 and led the Colonels to state runner-up finishes in 1976 and 1979.
The gymnasium at Christian County is named for Dunbar.
Dunbar was a three-year starter at Kentucky Wesleyan and was a teammate of 'King" Kelly Coleman.
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association Board of Control voted 13-5 on Wednesday to adopt a 35-second shot clock for varsity girls' and boys' basketball starting with the 2027-28 season.
A motion to implement the shot clock for the 2026-27 season was defeated 11-7.
A survey conducted by the KHSAA earlier this year showed nearly 60% of the schools were not in favor of a shot clock.
"At a certain point, if we don't do it, it's going to become mandated (by the National Federation of State High School Associations), do we want to be the one of the last five or six states that has it forced upon us because we wouldn't modernize our game?" Board of Control President Damon Kelley said.
Thirty-two state associations have adopted the shot clock since the NFHS gave the option to do it.
"I think the concern of finding qualified people to run it can be addressed by putting an official there," Kelley said. "The only negative that I've heard that I don't know how to address is the cost factor because you gotta buy the clocks, you gotta install them and then you gotta pay someone to operate it. I don't have a magic wand."
"You heard this in the regional meetings, these same schools that are paying 15-grand for Hudl, can, will find the clock," KHSAA Commissioner Julian Tackett said.
The Louisville Invitational Tournament, with permission from the KHSAA, used a shot clock last season.
Five months after resigning as the boys' basketball coach at Adair County, Deron Breeze is back as the interim coach of the Indians.
Breeze resigned in April after 10 seasons as Adair County's head coach. He guided the Indians to the state tournament each of the last two seasons.
Breeze, a former student at Mason County, was the head coach at Bracken County for the 2008-09 season.
Jordan Brangers, a former assistant coach at Bracken County and the Most Valuable Player of the 2022 Maysville Classic, was hired as Adair County's head coach in April, but stepped down last month to work full-time with Proficient Skills Academy.
Eastside, led by former Mason County Royal Mikah Turner, won the Maysville Classic on Sunday at the Lady Royals Gym.
Turner won the Ron Bailey Most Valuable Player Award.
In the championship game, Turner scored 21 points and hit five 3-pointers in the first half and finished with 34 points.
Paul King and Pat Moore were posthumously inducted into the Maysville Classic Hall of Fame on Sunday afternoon. King and Moore are the Hall of Fame's first two inductees.

It's a big sports weekend in Maysville and the weather looks great.
It's Alumni Night tonight for Mason County football. There will be food at 6 p.m., the 7-on-7 alumni game at 7:30 followed by the Royals' practice.
The Maysville Classic, a 5-on-5 basketball tournament formerly the Dirt Bowl, will be played at the Lady Royals Gym on Saturday.
The Ladies 2-Day Scramble at Kenton Station Golf Course is Saturday and Sunday. Emilee Bertram and Jodi Bertram are the defending champions. Saturday's tee times are posted on the golf course's Facebook page.
The 33rd Laurel Oaks Classic, a 36-hole stroke play tournament, is Saturday and Sunday at Laurel Oaks Golf Course. Corey Richmond is the defending champion. The shootout is tonight at 6:30. Check out the Saturday tee times in the X post below.

Surveys conducted by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association show the vast majority of schools do not want a shot clock for basketball and are not in favor of offering pickleball or girls' flag football.
Of the 252 schools responding to the shot clock survey, 150 or 59.52% are not in favor of adding shot clock in basketball.
Beginning with the 2022-23 season, the National Federation of High School Associations has allowed states to adopt a shot clock on a state-by-state basis.
The pickeball survey received 254 replies, and 152 or 59.84% were not interested in adding the sport.
There was even less support for girls' flag football as 166 schools or 65.35% of the 254 respondents said they were not interested in adding the sport which will be sanctioned in Ohio beginning next spring.
Nearly 35% of the schools said they would enter a team in girls' flag football in the near future if offered by the KHSAA—15.75% in the 2026-27 season, 9.06% in the 2027-28 season and 9.84% in the 2028-29 season.
Madison Central rising senior Jake Feldhaus has verbally committed to Belmont University in Nashville.
Feldhaus shot 55.2% from the field while averaging 22 points and 11.3 rebounds a game for the Indians last season after transferring from Mason County.
Feldhaus is also one of the top high school golfers in the state. He tied for 11th in the state tournament last fall while helping Madison Central win the state championship.
The Team USA Men's 3x3 basketball squad won the silver medal at the 2025 FISU World University Games in Germany on Sunday.
Mason County Royals assistant basketball coach Owens Crawford was an assistant coach and statistician for the men's team.
Team USA lost to Lithuania 21-16 in the Gold Medal Game after beating Poland 21-14 in the quarterfinals on Saturday and edging Czechia 19-17 in the semifinals on Sunday.
Lex Turner will be the head coach of the St. Patrick boys' basketball team next season after serving with Chris Bauer as interim coach during the latter part of the 2024-25 season.
Turner was the Saints' head coach for twenty-eight seasons before retiring in 2004. His teams won 365 games, two district championships and two All "A" 10th Region championships.
Tony Moore had been the Saints' head coach since the 2020-21 season but was unable to coach last season due to health issues.
St. Patrick athletic director Angie Brant said "it was in the best interest of the program to move in a new direction."
Turner coached the Saints in summer basketball last month.
Moore has joined the Terry King's coaching staff at Bracken County. He says he will be the head coach of the freshman team.
Mason County rising senior Amirah Reed and her Cincy Swish Chialastri teammates won the gold medal at the 5th Annual Midwest Showcase on Sunday at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.
After going 2-0 in pool play on Saturday, Cincy Swish Chialastri beat Cincy Chargers Mahoney 61-53 in the semifinals on Sunday morning and defeated TNBA Cleveland Select 48-37 in the championship game on Sunday afternoon.

Rising junior Braeden Myrick is transferring from Mason County to Covington Catholic.
NextUpRecruits broke the story on Monday. Braeden's father, Tim Myrick, confirmed the move in a Facebook post.
Braeden Myrick led Mason County in scoring last season, averaging 19.1 points per game while shooting 45.7% from 3-point range. He made a school-record 11 3-pointers in a win over Fleming County during the 2023-24 season.
Mason County Royals assistant basketball coach Owens Crawford has been named to the coaching staff of the Team USA Men's 3x3 basketball squad that will compete in the 2025 FISU World University Games in Germany.
According to a news release from Sports Reach Basketball, Crawford will serve as an assistant coach and statistician.
The 2025 FISU World University Games are scheduled July 16-27 in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany.
