Lady Saints lose to Villa Madonna

The St. Patrick Lady Saints led 21-18 at halftime, but were outscored 27-8 in the third quarter and 14-9 in the fourth quarter and lost to the Villa Madonna Vikings 59-38 on Friday night at The Shamrock.

Libby Gallenstein had a game-high 17 points for the Lady Saints. Lillian Klee added 10 points.

St. Patrick (1-7) will play at Covington Latin on Tuesday night.

Lady Royals cruise past Lady Saints 59-29 for fifth straight district championship

The Mason County Lady Royals defeated the St. Patrick Lady Saints 59-29 tonight in the championship game of the 39th District Tournament at The Fieldhouse.

It's the Lady Royals' fifth straight district championship.

Mason County led 19-6 at the end of the first quarter and 37-11 at the half.

The Lady Royals took a 54-19 lead with 5:59 left in the fourth quarter and the rest of the game was played with a running clock.

Rachel Payne led Mason County in scoring with 14 points. Victoria Brooks and Sam Schumacher scored 12 points apiece.

Libby Gallenstein was St. Patrick's leading scorer with eight points.

Lady Saints punch ticket to region with a 53-46 win over Bracken County

Libby Gallenstein made five three-pointers and scored 23 points to lead the St. Patrick Lady Saints to a 53-46 victory over the Bracken County Lady Bears tonight in the semifinals of the 39th District Tournament at The Fieldhouse.

St. Patrick used a 13-0 run to lead 29-22. Bracken County responded with a 14-2 spurt go up 36-31.

Bracken County led 38-35 before Gallenstein hit back-to-back three-pointers. Kennedy Carl answered with a three-pointer for the Lady Bears. Caroline McKay joined the three-point barrage to give the Lady Saints the lead for good with 3:23 to play. 

St. Patrick made 8-of-10 free throws in the closing minutes to seal the victory which avenged two regular season losses to Bracken County.

McKay scored 10 points.

Carl led Bracken County in scoring with 13 points. Aryah Myrick added 10 points.

St. Patrick will play Mason County in the championship game Thursday night.

Big 3rd quarter boosts Lady Saints to a win over St. Joseph

After scoring just two points in the second quarter and only 17 in the first half, the St. Patrick Lady Saints exploded for 21 points in the third quarter on their way to a 48-46 victory over the St. Joseph Central Lady Flyers tonight at The Shamrock.

The Lady Saints trailed by six points at the half, but were up 38-30 after the productive third quarter.

Justina Klee led St. Patrick in scoring with 11 points. Libby Gallenstein added 10 points.

The Lady Saints travel to Ashland Saturday afternoon to play the Rose Hill Christian Lady Royals.

Libby Gallenstein scores 1,000th career point in Lady Saints' loss

St. Patrick junior Libby Gallenstein scored 16 points including her 1,000th career point in the Lady Saints' 54-35 loss to the Robertson County Lady Devils tonight at Robertson County.

The Lady Saints were outscored 24-10 in the fourth quarter. 

The Saints trailed 60-38 at the half and lost the Black Devils 101-57 in the second game of the girls and boys doubleheader.

Pat McKay led the Saints in scoring with 15 points. Jaylan Rigdon tossed in 11 points and Jack Gallenstein added 10 points.

Alex Schlach scored 27 points for the Black Devils.

The Lady Saints host St. Joseph Central Thursday night. 

The Saints are back in action Friday night at home against the Berea Pirates.

Lady Saints snap 3-game losing streak

The St. Patrick Lady Saints snapped a three-game losing streak with a 54-31 victory over Covington Latin Tuesday night at The Shamrock.

Libby Gallenstein scored a game-high 11 points for the Lady Saints. Caroline McKay added 10 points.

St. Patrick hosts Bracken County Thursday night.

Lady Saints advance to 10th Region All "A" Classic semis with a win over Augusta

The St. Patrick Lady Saints advanced to the semifinals of the 10th Region All "A" Classic with a 48-35 victory over the Augusta Lady Panthers tonight at Campbell County Middle School.

The Lady Saints outscored the Lady Panthers 13-0 in the third quarter.

Libby Gallenstein led St. Patrick in scoring with 12 points.

The win avenged a 55-54 overtime loss to Augusta on December 17 and snapped the Lady Saints' six-game losing streak to the Lady Panthers.

St. Patrick has won five of its last six games.

The Lady Saints will play in the lower bracket semifinal game Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against the winner of Thursday night's game between Bishop Brossart and Robertson County.

Lady Saints edged by Reading 29-26 in Ripley Holiday Classic

The St. Patrick Lady Saints closed out play in the Ripley Holiday Classic Friday with a 29-26 loss to Reading, Ohio.

Libby Gallenstein led St. Patrick in scoring with 12 points.

The Lady Saints host the Robertson County Lady Devils Wednesday night.

Gallenstein scores 25 points in Lady Saints OT loss

Libby Gallenstein scored 25 points in the St. Patrick Lady Saints' 54-47 loss to Gamble Montessori in overtime today in the Ripley Holiday Classic.

St. Patrick outscored Gamble Montessori 18-8 in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime, but the Lady Gators outscored the Lady Saints 7-0 in the extra period.

Gallenstein made 12-of-12 free throws.

The Lady Saints play Reading Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Ripley Holiday Classic.

Lady Saints edged by Augusta 55-54 in OT

Alexis Shields made 1-of-2 free throws with 1.6 seconds left in overtime to give the Augusta Lady Panthers a 55-54 victory over the St. Patrick Lady Saints tonight in the Hoops for Hope at the Panthers Den in Augusta.

With the score tied at 54-54, St. Patrick had a chance to take the lead, but missed a shot and was called for a foul on the rebound.

Augusta was in the double bonus. Shields missed the first free throw, but made the second.

The Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Saints 11-10 in the extra period.

Nicole Arthur scored a game-high 21 points for Augusta.

Three Lady Saints scored in double figures, led by Justina Klee with 18 points. Libby Gallenstein scored 12 points and Caroline McKay added 10 points.

St. Patrick is back in action Wednesday night at home against Fleming County.

Lady Saints rout St. Joseph 53-24

Three Lady Saints scored in double figures and St. Patrick routed St. Joseph 53-24 tonight in Ironton, Ohio.

St. Patrick outscored St. Joseph 22-5 in the second half.

Caroline McKay made five three-pointers and scored 18 points. Libby Gallenstein hit four three-pointers and scored 13 points. Allison Hughes added 10 points.

The Lady Saints play the Bracken County Lady Bears in Brooksville Saturday night.

Lady Saints go to 2-0 with a 48-33 win over Rose Hill Christian

Three St. Patrick players scored in double figures as the Lady Saints ran their record to 2-0 with a 48-33 victory over the Rose Hill Christian Lady Royals Saturday night.

Justina Klee and Makenna Roush scored 14 points apiece.
Libby Gallenstein added 11 points.

St, Patrick plays its first road game of the season Thursday night at Pendleton County.

Lady Saints run win streak to 6 games and record to 12-12 with a win over Rose Hill Christian

The St. Patrick Lady Saints ran their winning streak to six games and evened their record at 12-12 with a 45-42 road win over the Rose Hill Christian Lady Royals Saturday afternoon.

After trailing by a point at the end of the third quarter, the Lady Saints outscored the Lady Royals 16-12 in the fourth quarter.

St. Patrick was led in scoring by Allison Hughes with 16 points.

Libby Gallenstein and Justina Klee scored 10 points apiece.

The Lady Saints are back in action Tuesday night at Villa Madonna.

Saints hit a school-record 21 3s to cap off DH Sweep

The St. Patrick Saints hit a school-record 21 three-pointers to cap off a girls and boys doubleheader sweep over Silver Grove tonight at Silver Grove.

Brevin Jones made nine three-pointers and scored 34 points and Baylen Bauer hit a school-record 10 three-pointers and scored 30 points in the Saints' 104-48 victory over the Big Trains. 

Patrick McKay added two treys and Jake Swolsky tossed in 10 points.

Libby Gallenstein scored 11 points and Allison Hughes followed with 10 points to lead the Lady Saints to a 38-25 win.

The Lady Saints have won five straight games. They play at Rose Hill Christian Saturday afternoon.

The Saints host Ryle Saturday night.

St. Patrick and Robertson Co. split a DH

St. Patrick and Robertson County split a girls and boys doubleheader tonight on St. Patrick's Senior Night.

In the girls game, the St. Patrick Lady Saints ran their winning streak to four games with a 40-36 victory.

The Lady Saints trailed 14-7 at the end of the first quarter, but rallied to within two at the end of the first half and outscored the Lady Devils 24-18 in the second half including 10-6 in the fourth quarter.

Libby Gallenstein and Elizabeth McKay led St. Patrick in scoring with 11 points apiece.

In the boys game, the Robertson County Black Devils held off St. Patrick's late rally for an 80-73 win.

The Saints trailed by 17 points in the first quarter before rallying to tie the game at 69-69 with 2:37 to play, but the Black Devils made 9-of-10 free throws down the stretch.

Brevin Jones hit six three-pointers and scored a game-high 25 points for the Saints.

Jake Swolsky made four three-pointers and followed with 22 points.

Baylen Bauer added 11 points.

St. Patrick and Silver Grove play a girls and boys doubleheader Thursday night at Silver Grove.

Lady Saints rally to beat Rose Hill Christian

The St. Patrick Lady Saints rallied from a 15-point first quarter deficit to beat the Rose Hill Christian Lady Royals 60-45 tonight at The Shamrock.

Rose Hill Christian reeled off 19 straight points and led 22-9 at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Saints outscored the Lady Royals 10-3 in the second quarter, then, opened the third quarter on a 14-0 run.

St. Patrick led 48-36 in the fourth quarter. Rose Hill Christian closed to within 48-42 and 50-44, but the Lady Saints were able to hold on for their seventh win of the season.

Caroline McKay and Justina Klee scored 16 points apiece and Libby Gallenstein and Allison Hughes each scored 12 points.

The Lady Saints are back in action Friday night at Burgin.

Saints derail Trains in girls and boys doubleheader

Justina Klee scored 15 points and Libby Gallenstein tossed in 10 points to lead the St. Patrick Lady Saints to 41-21 victory over the Silver Grove Lady Trains, and the St. Patrick Saints hit 15 three-pointers in a 76-34 win over the Silver Grove Big Trains 76-34 tonight at The Shamrock.

Patrick McKay made seven three-pointers for a game-high 21 points, Baylen Bauer hit six three-pointers and followed with 20 points and Chandler Black added 19 points including a trey.

The Saints outscored the Big Trains 28-2 in the second quarter.

St. Patrick will host Berea for a girls and boys doubleheader Saturday.

Lady Saints lose to Augusta in All “A”

The Saint Patrick Lady Saints lost to the Augusta Lady Panthers 48-36 today in the quarterfinal round of the 10th Region All “A” Classic at Nicholas County.

Katie Stanton scored a game-high 17 points for Augusta.

Libby Gallentstein led St. Patrick in scoring with 10 points and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Elizabeth McKay received the Academic Award.

The Lady Saints host Manchester Monday night.

Robertson Co. and St. Patrick split doubleheader

Robertson County and St. Patrick split a boys and girls doubleheader tonight at Robertson County.

Alex Schalch scored 30 points to lead the Black Devils to a 92-67 victory over the Saints.

The St. Patrick Lady Saints led 30-11 at halftime in the girls game and hung on for a 50-44 win to snap a five-game losing streak.

St. Patrick sophomore Libby Gallenstein hit six three-pointers and scored a game-high 21 points before fouling out with 4:08 left in the game.

Elizabeth McKay added 10 points for the Lady Saints.

The Saints were led in scoring by Brevin Jones with 24 points.

Patrick McKay followed with 14 points and Jake Swolsky added 12 points.

The Lady Saints and Saints both play Augusta in the quarterfinal round of the 10th Region All "A" Classic Saturday at Nicholas County.

St. Patrick and Augusta split a girls and boys DH in the Hoops for Hope

St. Patrick and Augusta split a girls and boys doubleheader tonight in the Hoops for Hope at St. Patrick.

In the boys' game, the Augusta Panthers scored the first 11 points of the game, but the St. Patrick Saints rallied and scored the last 10 points of the game for a 63-53 victory that snapped a four-game losing streak.

St. Patrick rallied from the 11-0 deficit to lead 31-28 and was up 42-33 in the third quarter.

Augusta stormed back to tie the score at 53-53 midway through the fourth quarter but did not score the rest of the game.

Baylen Bauer hit back-to-back layups, Chandler Black followed with a basket and Jake Swolsky hit four free throws in the 10-0 game-ending run.

Four St. Patrick players scored in double figures with Brevin Jones leading the way with 21 points. Jones hit five three-pointers. Swolsky followed with 14 points. Bauer scored 11 points and  Black added 10 points.

Augusta sophomore Preston Philpot hit seven three-pointers and scored 26 points.

In the girls' game, the Lady Panthers led the whole game in a 50-45 win over the Lady Saints.

The Lady Panthers built an 11-point lead in second quarter and were up by seven points at halftime.

St. Patrick outscored Augusta 10-6 in the third quarter and scored the first two points of the fourth quarter to pull within a point at 32-31. 

Augusta increased the lead to five points.

St. Patrick 7th grader Caroline McKay hit a three-pointer to cut the deficit to two at 45-43 with 39 seconds left, but the Lady Panthers closed out the game with a 5-2 run.

Augusta senior Kaitlyn Stanton scored a game-high 24 points.

Alexis Shields added 14 points for the Lady Panthers.

St. Patrick was led in scoring by Allison Hughes with 11 points.

Libby Gallenstein tossed in 10 points.
