Wins in 19 holes will pit Frame against Knox in Chippeways quarterfinal round

Former Mason County teammates Jackson Frame and B.J. Knox will meet in the quarterfinals of the 84th Chippeways match play golf tournament at Maysville Country Club Saturday after both pulled out first round wins in 19 holes today.

Knox was 1-down heading to 18, but won the hole and evened the match with a par.

Frame set up his winning putt with a terrific uphill pitch shot after pulling his second shot.

Frame is the two-time defending champion and has won the tournament three of the last four years.

Two time champions- Drew Traxel and Robert Walton- will meet in the other upper bracket quarterfinal match.

The lower bracket quarterfinal matches pit Matt Stoneburner against John Hoh and five-time champion Eric Schumacher against two-time champion Joe Traxel.

The Championship Flight and First Flight brackets were changed late Thursday after some handicap index issues were discovered.
