Lady Royals' season ends with a 49-21 loss to Montgomery County in region semis

The Mason County Lady Royals fell behind 14-0 and lost to the Montgomery County Lady Indians 49-21 in the semifinals of the 10th Region Tournament tonight at Nicholas County.

A last second three-pointer by Macey Littleton kept the Lady Royals from being scoreless in the first period.

Mason County cut the deficit to eight at 16-8 but could get no closer. 

Montgomery County had another 14-0 run from late in the second quarter to late in the third quarter. The Lady Indians outscored the Lady Royals 17-2 in the third quarter. Their biggest lead was 31 points twice in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Royals' 21-point total is one more than the program record for fewest points scored in a game.

Savannah Parker led Montgomery County (21-12) in scoring with 24 points.

Littleton led Mason County (18-10) with eight points.

Two Lady Royals -- Avery Sims and Nariyah Harrison -- were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Montgomery County advances to Saturday night's championship game to play George Rogers Clark. The Lady Cardinals defeated the Bishop Brossart Lady 'Stangs 45-27 in the other semifinal.

Lady Royals beat Campbell County 33-26 in defensive battle in region quartefinal

The Mason County Lady Royals held Campbell County to nine points in the second half and defeated the Lady Camels 33-26 tonight in the quarterfinal round of the 10th Region Tournament at Nicholas County.

Campbell County was scoreless for more than 11 minutes in one stretch of the second half.

After trailing by five points, the Lady Royals reeled off 10 straight points, the first part of a 16-4 run to end the game.

The Lady Camels took a 22-17 lead with 6:37 remaining in the third quarter but did not score again until the 3:18 mark of the fourth quarter.

Mason County (18-9) was led in scoring by Nariyah Harrison who scored all nine of her points in the second half.

Keauna Cullum scored a game-high 10 points for Campbell County (11-19).

The Lady Royals advance to Friday night's semifinals to play Montgomery County. The Lady Indians beat the Nicholas County Lady Jackets 59-37.

Schumacher and Harrison lead Lady Royals to a 59-55 victory over Oldham County

Sam Schumacher scored 18 points and Nariyah Harrison added 15 points to lead the Mason County Lady Royals to a 59-55 victory over the Oldham County Lady Colonels tonight in the opening round of the Plan B Apparel 2018 Holiday Classic at Bourbon County.


There were eight ties and 11 lead changes in the game.

After a 43-43 tie, the Lady Royals went on a 12-0 run and held on for their sixth win of the season.

Mason County overcame 22 turnovers by shooting 50 percent from the field.

The Lady Royals will play St. Henry in the semifinals Friday at 7:15 p.m.
