2022 Mason County High School graduate Anthony Bozeman signed Friday to continue his track and academic career at the University of Pikeville.
In his first season with the Mason County track and field program, Bozeman placed fourth in the high jump and fifth in the 110 meter hurdles at the Class 2A Clark Pump-N-Shop State Track and Field Championships last month. He was second team all-state in the high jump.
Bozeman also played football at Mason County.
The Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association has released its All-State Track and Field Teams.
Five Mason County athletes made the teams in a total of nine events. That is Mason County's largest group in a single season according to coach Mark Kachler.

The Mason County Lady Royals track and field team won the Bourbon County High School Colonel Relays on Saturday, its fourth victory in as many meets this season. The Royals took 3rd place in the boys' meet.
After trailing Bourbon County by 14 points, the Lady Royals rallied to win with 101 points. Bourbon County was the runner-up with 95 points and Woodford County finished in 3rd place with 73.
Woodford County won the boys' meet with 104 points and was followed by Lexington Catholic with 95 points and Mason County with 76.
"There were so many great performances yesterday from both teams I don't know where to start," Coach Mark Kachler wrote in an email message. "The entire coaching staff is very proud of the efforts of everyone. That was a tough meet and they obviously held up very well."
Eighth grader Lexi Young won the long jump and broke De'Sarae Chambers' school record in with the longest jump in the state by a female this year, 18 feet, nine inches. The previous record was 17.5 feet. Young also won the girls' high jump (5-02.00). She broke the school high jump record earlier this season.
Layla Henderson won the girls' 3200 meter run (11:48.08) and was fourth in the girls' 1600 meter run with a time of 5:24.81 that broke the school record previously held by teammate Paige Decker.
Anthony Bozeman won the boys' 110 meter hurdles (16.39) and the boys' high jump (6-00.00).
AJ Barrett, a junior, in the boys' pole vault (13-00.00).
The Area 7 meet is this Saturday at Ashland.
The Mason County Lady Royals opened the outdoor track and field season by winning the Rowan County Invitational on Saturday by a quarter point over the Bourbon County Lady Cardinals. The Royals finished second in the boys' meet.
The Lady Royals had 153 points. Bourbon County had 152.75 points. Rowan County was a distance third with 82 points.
The Royals had 105 points. Montgomery County won the boys' meet with 143 points.
Mason County junior Layla Henderson won the 3200 meter run and broke her own school record with a time of 11:37.

The Mason County boys' 4x400 relay team won the event at the KTCCCA President's Day Weekend Invite 2022 on Sunday in Louisville.
The team of Alix Flinders, Austin Moreland, Anthony Bozeman and Hunter Kinney won with a time of 3:34.34.
The meet was held at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center, the site of the indoor state championships this weekend.

Keshaun Thomas threw four touchdown passes, two each to Khristian Walton and Anthony Bozeman.

Mason County moves on to the second round to play the winner of Friday night's game between the Fleming County Panthers and the Lewis County Lions.
The Fleming County Panthers defeated the Mason County Royals for the ninth straight time, pulling out a 12-7 victory in a district game at Mason County tonight.
After a scoreless first half that included a lightning delay, Fleming County took advantage of a muffed punt to grab a 6-0 lead on six-yard run by Austin Trent in the third quarter.
A one-yard run by quarterback Zeke Conn gave the Panthers a 12-0 lead with 9:15 remaining in the game.
Mason County answered with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Keshaun Thomas to Anthony Bozeman with 7:31 to play.
The Royals drove into Fleming County territory in the final minute, but their fourth down pass was batted down by Caleb Igo at the goal line.
Fleming County improved to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in district play.
The loss snapped Mason County's three-game winning streak and dropped the Royals' overall record to 4-3. Mason County is 1-1 in district games.
Fleming County plays at Pendleton County next week, while Mason County will travel to Vanceburg to play the Lewis County Lions.
The Mason County Royals, coming off their bye week, snapped a two-game losing streak with a 34-0 victory over the Boyd County Lions tonight on Homecoming.
Mason County capitalized on two Boyd County turnovers to lead 15-0 in the first quarter, and were up 27-0 at the half.
Anthony Bozeman returned the second half kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown.
