Lady Royals 4th, Royals 8th at Bourbon co. Colonels Relays

The Mason County Lady Royals took fourth place and the Royals finished in eighth place in the Bourbon County Colonels Relays Saturday.

It was a big meet with 14 boys teams and 15 girls teams including several large schools.

First place finishes by Mason County athletes include:

  • Marissa Scilley in the triple jump (33-01.25)
  • Dalton Kindt in the shot put (47-0.00) and the discus (!39-08)
  • Kaylee Campbell and Alyssa Cracraft in the 2x50 meter relay unified, the shot put relay unified and the long jump relay unified
Bracken County senior Trey Deaton won the long jump (19-10.00).

Frodge, Sizemore and Kindt medal at state

Mason County seniors Jordan Frodge and Rheagan Sizemore closed out their careers with medal-winning performances at the Class AA state track and field meet Friday at the University of Kentucky.

Frodge took third place in the girls' high jump (5-00.00)

Sizemore finished fourth in the girls' 800 meter run (2:27.25) and sixth in the girls' pole vault (8-06.00).

Mason County junior Dalton Kindt took fourth place in the boys shot put (45-09.50).

In the mixed unified competition, Mason County sophomore Kaylee Campbell finished third in the shot put (54-01 with Kindt), fourth in the long jump (14-07.75 with Travis Whisman) and ninth in the 2x50 relay (25.51 with Whisman).

The Mason County girls finished in 15th place in the team standings.
