The St. Patrick Lady Saints scored the last seven points of the game and outscored the Paris Lady Hounds 30-13 in the second half to win 46-41 today in the championship game of the All "A" 10th Region tournament at Deming. It's the Lady Saints' first All "A" region title. Paris led 28-16 at the half. The Lady Saints pulled to within five at 32-27 at the end of the third quarter. St. Patrick started the fourth quarter on an 8-3 run to tie the game at 35-35. A basket by Anovia Byars gave Paris a 41-39 lead with 3:11 to play. That was the last time Paris scored. Katelyn Yeary hit two free throws to tie it at 41-41. Chelsea Douglas put the Lady Saints ahead for good at 43-41 with 2:12 to go. St. Patrick had suffered close losses in the championship game each of the last two years. Lydia Hamilton led St. Patrick in scoring with 17 points. Douglas added 10 points. Hamilton was named Academic All-Region. Douglas, Brooke Mosler and Allison Tolle were named to the All-Tournament Team. The Lady Saints will play Newport Central Catholic in the Touchstone Energy All "A" Classic Feb. 2 at 5 p.m. at Eastern Kentucky University's McBrayer Arena. The Lady Saints are right back in action Monday night at home against Lewis County.The St. Patrick Lady Saints opened the season tonight with a 54-30 victory over the Bourbon County Lady Colonels. Brooke Mosler led the Lady Saints in scoring with 16 points. Chelsea Douglas scored 11 points and Allison Tolle added 10 points. St. Patrick returns to action Thursday night at Bracken County. The St. Patrick Lady Saints defeated the Montgomery County Lady Indians 25-9 and 25-14 tonight at St. Patrick. The Lady Saints have won three consecutive matches and are 7-2. St. Patrick hosts Mason County Friday night.
