Hughes and Becker receive KABC 10th Region POY Awards tonight

St. Patrick senior Allison Hughes and Robertson County senior Justin Becker received their Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches 10th Region Player of the Year awards tonight at the Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball Awards Ceremony.

The ceremony was held at Lexington Griffin Gate Golf and Resort Spa.

The players of the year from each of the 16 regions were finalists for the Mr. Basketball or Miss Basketball Awards which are voted on by coaches and media members, and presented by the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation.

Bowling Green senior Turner Buttry was named Mr. Basketball. 

Anderson County senior Amiya Jenkins was named Miss Basketball.

The Bracken County Lady Bears rout the shorthanded St. Patrick Lady Saints 79-48

The Bracken County Lady Bears are headed to the 10th Region Tournament for the first time since 2018 after routing the shorthanded St. Patrick Lady Saints 79-48 in the upper bracket semifinal game of the 39th District Tournament tonight at The Fieldhouse.

St. Patrick (17-12) was without its leading scorer Allison Hughes, the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches 10th Region Player of the Year. Hughes was sidelined with a knee injury.

Macie Sharp hit four three-pointers and scored 24 points for Bracken County. Nicole Archibald followed with 20 points and Ella Johnson added 18 points.

Lillian Klee led St. Patrick in scoring with 19 points. Makenna Roush scored 17 points.

Bracken County (14-9) advances to Thursday night's championship game against the winner of Tuesday nights game between Mason County and Augusta.

Lady Saint Allison Hughes is the KABC 10th Region Girls Player of the Year

St. Patrick senior Allison Hughes is the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches Association 10th Region Girls Player of the Year.

The award makes Hughes a finalist for Miss Basketball.

Hughes, second on the Lady Saints' all-time scoring list, is averaging 15.7 points and 4.1 rebounds a game this season.

Hughes is the first Lady Saint to win the award

Robertson County senior Justin Becker is the KABC 10th Region Boys Player of the Year and is a finalist for Mr. Basketball. Becker is the first Robertson County player to receive the award. 

Aaron Speaks of Paris is the KABC 10th Region Girls Coach of the Year and Adam Reed of Bracken County is the KABC 10th Region Boys Coach of the Year.

The KABC award winners from each region will be recognized at the state basketball tournaments.

Allison Hughes signs with Thomas More University

St. Patrick senior Allison Hughes signed today to continue her soccer and academic careers at Thomas More University.

Hughes scored 56 goals during her high school career including 16 in her senior season. She scored all five of the Lady Saints' goals in a victory over the Paris Lady Hounds in the 2021 10th Region All "A" Classic.

Hughes recently moved into second place on the St. Patrick girls' basketball all-time scoring list.

Lady Saints fall to Lady Hounds 58-39 in 10th Region All "A" Classic

The St. Patrick Lady Saints lost to the Paris Lady Hounds 58-39 in the quarterfinal round of the 10th Region All "A" Classic today at Bracken County.

Paris outscored St. Patrick 18-11 in the second quarter and 15-4 in the fourth quarter. Freshman Myleisha Jackson scored a game-high 26 points for the Lady Hounds. St. Patrick (11-4) was led in scoring by Allison Hughes with 14 points.

The Lady Saints' next game is at Wednesday night at home vs. the Pendleton County Lady Wildcats.

St. Patrick Lady Saints defeated Bethel-Tate 39-29 in the championship game of the Ripley Holiday Classic

Allison Hughes and Caroline McKay combined for 31 points to lead the St. Patrick Lady Saints to a 39-29 victory over the Bethel-Tate Lady Tigers today in the championship game of the Ripley Holiday Classic.

Hughes scored a game-high 17 points and McKay hit four three-pointers and scored 14 points.

After trailing by three points at halftime, St. Patrick outscored Bethel-Tate 22-9 in the second half.

The Lady Saints ran their record to 10-2. Their next game is Monday night against the Augusta Lady Panthers in Augusta.

Hughes scores 28 points to lead St. Patrick to a win in the Ripley Holiday Classic

Allison Hughes scored 28 points to lead the St. Patrick Lady Saints to a 50-35 victory over the Clinton Massie Lady Falcons today in the semifinals of the Ripley Holiday Classic.

Caroline McKay added 12 points for the Lady Saints on four three-pointers.

St. Patrick advances to the championship game Thursday at 4 p.m.

St. Patrick ends the season with a loss to Bishop Brossart

The St. Patrick Lady Saints' season came to an end tonight with a 56-25 loss to the Bishop Brossart Lady 'Stangs in a quarterfinal round game of the 10th Region Tournament at GRC Arena in Winchester.

Bishop Brossart, which allowed an average of just 34.5 points per game this season, led 15-6 at the end of the first quarter and 37-8 at the half.

The Lady Saints were led in scoring by Allison Hughes with 13 points.

St. Patrick, with no seniors on the roster, finishes the season with a record of 11-14.

Bishop Brossart advances to Monday night's semifinals to play George Rogers Clark. The Cardinals defeated Nicholas County 61-35 earlier tonight.

Lady Saints advance with a 41-31 victory over the Lady Bears

The St. Patrick Lady Saints outscored the Bracken County Lady Bears 12-4 in the fourth quarter to win 41-31 in a 39th District semifinal game at The Fieldhouse tonight.

St. Patrick junior Allison Hughes scored a game-high 17 points.

Eighth-grader Nicole Archibald led Bracken County in scoring with 12 points.

The Lady Saints will play the Mason County Lady Royals in the district championship game Thursday night.

Lady Saints beat Dayton 58-45

Three Lady Saints scored in double figures to lead St. Patrick to a 58-45 victory over the Dayton Lady Devils tonight at The Shamrock.

Allison Hughes led the way with 24 points. Caroline McKay followed with 14 points and Justina Klee added 10 points.

Dayton senior Johnessah Barbiea mached Hughes' 24 points.

The Lady Saints are back in action Friday night at Bracken County.

Lady Saints lose to Lady Lions in Vanceburg

The St. Patrick Lady Saints scored half of their points in the first quarter in a 58-26 loss to the Lewis County Lady Lions tonight in Vanceburg.

St. Patrick led 15-11 early in the second quarter, but Lewis County pulled away with a 19-0 run.

The Lady Saints were outscored 28-9 in the second half.

Caroline McKay and Allison Hughes led St. Patrick in scoring with eight points apiece.

The Lady Saints host Sayre Thursday night.

Lady Saints rally for road win over Rose Hill Christian

The St. Patrick Lady Saints rallied from a 10-point deficit late in the fourth quarter and edged the Rose Hill Christian Lady Royals 52-51 Saturday in Ashland.

The Lady Saints outscored the Lady Royals 22-14 in the fourth quarter.

Allison Hughes made an old fashioned three-point play to give St. Patrick a 52-49 lead. Rose Hill Christian made a shot for the final margin.

Justina Klee led the Lady Saints in scoring with 14 points. McKenna Roush tossed in 13 points. Hughes added 10 points. 

St. Patrick plays at Lewis County tonight.

Lady Saints stifled by Brossart defense in 46-17 loss in All "A" semis

The St. Patrick Lady Saints had trouble scoring against Bishop Brossart's man-to-man defense and were routed by the Lady 'Stangs 46-17 today in the semifinals of the 10th Region All "A" Classic at Campbell County Middle School.

The Lady Saints scored eight points in the first half and nine points in the second half.

Allison Hughes led St. Patrick in scoring with four points.

The Lady Saints host the Augusta Lady Panthers Tuesday night.

St. Patrick and Robertson County split a doubleheader

St. Patrick and Robertson County split a girls and boys doubleheader at The Shamrock last night.

Justina Klee had a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds and Allison Hughes scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Lady Saints to a 56-44 victory over the Lady Devils. 

The win snapped St. Patrick's four-game losing streak. The Lady Saints play at Sayre today at 6 p.m.

In the boys' game last night, the Saints trailed 27-4 at the end of the first quarter and lost to the Black Devils 89-40.

Jaylan Rigdon made three three-pointers and led St. Patrick in scoring with 15 points.

The Saints host Silver Grove Saturday night in the second game of a girls and boys doubleheader.

Lady Saints close out pre-Christmas schedule with a 60-42 loss to Fleming County

The St. Patrick Lady Saints closed out their pre-Christmas schedule with a 60-42 loss to the Fleming County Lady Panthers tonight at The Shamrock.

Fleming County led 12-3 at the end of the first quarter. St. Patrick used an 11-0 run to take a one-point lead in the second quarter, but the Lady Panthers answered and were up 25-16 at the half on the way to their first victory of the season.

Sidney Argo scored a game-high scored 27 points for Fleming County. Caroline Price added 15 points.

Caroline McKay led St. Patrick with 12 points. Justina Klee followed with 11 points and Allison Hughes added 10 points.

The Lady Saints return to action December 27 in the Pepsi Classic at Ripley.

Lady Saints rout St. Joseph 53-24

Three Lady Saints scored in double figures and St. Patrick routed St. Joseph 53-24 tonight in Ironton, Ohio.

St. Patrick outscored St. Joseph 22-5 in the second half.

Caroline McKay made five three-pointers and scored 18 points. Libby Gallenstein hit four three-pointers and scored 13 points. Allison Hughes added 10 points.

The Lady Saints play the Bracken County Lady Bears in Brooksville Saturday night.

The St. Patrick Lady Saints routed the Covington Latin Trojans 54-18 in their season opener tonight at The Shamrock.

The Lady Saints led 13-4 at the end of the first quarter and 29-6 at halftime.

Lady Bears top Lady Saints in district SF

The Bracken County Lady Bears defeated the St. Patrick Lady Saints 51-23 tonight in a 39th District Tournament semifinal game at The Fieldhouse.

Bracken County led 17-5 at the end of the first quarter and 35-10 at the half.

St. Patrick hit just 5-of-32 field goal attempts.

Kinley Ruf had a game-high 14 points for the Lady Bears.

Jaya Dawson added 10 points.

Allison Hughes was St. Patrick's leading scored with 10 points.

Bracken County will play Mason County in the championship game Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

St. Patrick swept by Villa Madonna in girls and boys DH

The St. Patrick Lady Saints and Saints were swept by Villa Madonna Tuesday night at Villa Madonna.

The Lady Saints had their six-game winning streak snapped by a 47-35 loss.

Elizabeth McKay led St. Patrick in scoring with 11 points.

Allison Hughes added 10 points.

The Lady Saints will close out the regular season Thursday night at home against Bellevue.

The Saints were outscored 23-16 in the fourth quarter in a 79-70 loss to the Blue Lightning.

Brevin Jones hit six three-pointers and scored 21 points.

Baylen Bauer scored 13 points, Chandler Black tossed in 12 points and Ben Swolsky added 10 points.

The Saints travel to Carlisle Thursday to play the Nicholas County Bluejackets in their final game of the regular season.
