Lady Royals fall to Frederick Douglass 63-50
Macey Littleton and Trey Cracraf sign with Shawnee State University
Mason County seniors Macey Littleton and Trey Cracraft signed today to continue their golf and academic careers at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth.
Littleton qualified for the girls' state golf tournament as an individual her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. Last season she was the medalist in several regular season matches, led the Lady Royals to their first region championship since 2012, finished fourth in the Kentucky 2A Championships and finished ninth in the state tournament.
Littleton was named to the girls' All-Region team.
Cracraft was a key member of the Royals' golf team that won a Kentucky 2A sectional championship and the KHSAA Region 12 championship. He won the Mason County/St. Patrick Invitational and tied for 19th at the All-State Championship.
Cracraft was named to the boys' All-Region team.

Lady Royals upset Paris 57-39
The Mason County Lady Royals found their shooting touch in the second half and upset the Paris Lady Hounds 57-39 on Senior Night at The Fieldhouse on Saturday night.
The Lady Royals have struggled to make shots most of the season, but in the second half they shot 44.4 percent from the field and hit six 3-pointers.
Mason County (11-15) outscored Paris 23-7 in the third quarter after trailing 24-23 at halftime.
There were seven ties and eight lead changes in the game.
Paris (18-8), ranked as high as No. 2 in the region, was without its second leading scorer, Jamie Cowan, due to an injury.
The Lady Royals had balanced scoring. Macey Littleton scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Avery Sims had 11 points and 10 rebounds, Lexi Young had 10 points and 11 rebounds and Laci Burns scored 10 points.
Sarah Payne pulled down eight rebounds.
Mason County will host Frederick Douglass on Monday night.

Feldhaus Region 12 POY, Bennett Region COY
Mason County freshman Jake Feldhaus is the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association's Region 12 Player of the Year and Mason County Royals coach Bryson Bennett is the Region 12 Coach of the Year.
Feldhaus is joined on the All-Region team by Mason County seniors Grant Owens and Trey Cracraft.
Mason County senior Macey Littleton was named to the girls' All-Region team.
Feldhaus, a second team all-stater, won the the Bronco Invitational and the Cooper Classic and was the Kentucky 2A sectional medalist. He tied for fifth at the All-State Championship and tied for 17th at the state tournament.
Bennett guided the Royals to the Kentucky 2A sectional championship, a third place finish in the Kentucky 2A Championship, a 10th place finish in the All-State Championship and the Region 12 title in his first season as head coach.
Owens won the Eagle Trace Invitational and the Ashland Invitational and was the Region 12 champion.
Cracraft won the Mason County/St. Patrick Invitational and tied for 19th at the All-State Championship.

Mason County finishes 9th in girls' state golf tournament
The Mason County Lady Royals finished in ninth place at the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA Girls' State Golf Championship today at Bowling Green Country Club.
The Lady Royals shot 395 in the second round for a 36-hole total of 788.
Madison Central won the state championship at 634.
Mason County senior Macey Littleton shot a 90 for the second straight day. Morgan Parker followed with a 96. Maura Hartman shot a 103, Bentley Shepherd a 106 and Sydney Ullery a 117.
The Lady Royals were Region 12 champions and qualified for the state finals by finishing third in the state first round.

Lady Royals shot 393 in opening round of state golf tournament
The Mason County Lady Royals shot 393 today in the opening round of the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA Girls' State Golf Championship at Bowling Green Country Club.
Macey Littleton led the Lady Royals with a 90. Morgan Parker shot a 94, Bentley Shepherd a 102, and Maura Hartman and Sydney Ullery each shot a 107.
Madison Central shot 320 and has a seven-shot lead over Marshall County.
The final round will be played on Saturday.

Tee times set for opening rounds of state golf finals
Opening round tee times are set for the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA State Golf Championships at Bowling Green Country Club.
Mason County freshman Jake Feldhaus, who qualified as an individual, will tee off at 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Mason County Lady Royals qualified by finishing third in the state golf first round. Here are the Lady Royals' tee times on Thursday:

Maura Hartman, 8:30 a.m.
Morgan Parker, 8:40 a.m.
Sydney Ullery, 8:50 a.m.

All are Central Time.
Both the boys' and girls' tournaments are 36-hole events with no cuts.

Lady Royals qualify for state finals with third place finish in state golf first round
The Mason County Lady Royals qualified for the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA State Finals in Bowling Green by finishing third in the state golf first round today.
The Lady Royals had a team score of 384 at Winchester Country Club. Lexington Catholic was first at 329 and Madison Central was second at 332. The top three teams advance to the state finals.
Mason County was led by Macey Littleton with an 88. Sydney Ullery shot a 96, Morgan Parker a 97, Maura Hartman a 103 and Bentley Shepherd a 111. The top four scores are used for the team total.
The Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA State Finals will be played at Bowling Green Country Club October 7-8. There is no cut. All participants will play 36 holes. A practice round is scheduled on October 6.
