Paris tops Robertson Co. 68-42 to advance to region semifinals

The Paris Greyhounds outscored the Robertson County Black Devils 31-7 in the third quarter on their way to a 68-42 win in the quarterfinals of the 10th Region Tournament tonight at the Mason County Fieldhouse.

Paris led 17-3 at the end of the first quarter, but the Black Devils cut the Greyhounds' lead to nine at  the end of the second quarter.

Paris pulled away with the big third quarter and led by 36 points early in the fourth quarter.

The Greyhounds scored 37 points off the Black Devils' 28 turnovers. 

Eric Johnson scored a game-high 14 points for Paris.

Jekobi Wells, Jordan Davis and Ryan Davis each scored 12 points.

Mason Burden led Robertson County with 12 points.

Austin Dugan added 11 points and nine rebounds, and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Paris beats Mason County for the first time since 1991

For the first time since 1991, Paris has a win over Mason County. 

The Greyhounds beat the Royals 71-60 tonight at the Fieldhouse.

Mason County had won 20 straight games against Paris.

Paris, the 10th Region All "A" Champion, outscored Mason County 28-14 in the first quarter and led by as many as 24 points in the third quarter.

The Greyhounds scored 21 points off the Royals' 21 turnovers.

Four Greyhounds scored in double figures with Jekobi Wells leading the way with 21 points.

Eric Johnson and Tayjin Cunningham both scored 13 points and Ryan Davis added 12 points.

Ty Fox had a double-double (18 points and 12 rebounds) for Mason County.

Leevi Dunaway scored 12 points and Sam Kumler tossed in 11 points.

Mason County hosts Rowan County Friday night.
