Lady Saints edge Augusta to advance to the region

The St. Patrick Lady Saints edged the Augusta Lady Panthers 59-57 in overtime in the upper bracket semifinal game of the 39th District Tournament to earn a berth in the 10th Region Tournament for the first time since 2011.

Victoria McKay led St. Patrick in scoring with 14 points. Lexi Scales and Libby Gallenstein scored 13 points apiece. Augusta senior Samantha Kennard scored a game-high 23 points.

The Lady Saints advance to the championship game Thursday night. Mason County and Bracken County meet in the lower bracket semifinal game Tuesday night.

Lady Panthers Outscore Lady Saints 9-0 in OT for a 44-35 Win in All "A"

The Augusta Lady Panthers outscored the St. Patrick Lady Saints 9-0 in overtime to win 44-35 this morning in the quarterfinal round of the 10th Region All "A" Classic at Bracken County.

Augusta freshman Nicole Arthur scored a game-high 15 points. Samantha Kennard added 14 points for the Lady Panthers who advance to the semifinals to play the winner of Monday night's game between Paris and Bracken County.

Libby Gallenstein led St. Patrick in scoring with 13 points.
