Blakefield secures 2022 Korn Ferry Tour membership

Mark Blakefield secured 2022 Korn Ferry Tour membership with a T19 finish in the Qualifying Tournament's Second Stage at the Plantation Preserve Golf Club in Florida.

Blakefield had rounds of 67-66-71-71 to finish at 9-under, right on the cut line.

In the final round on Friday, Blakefield birdied the par-3 15th hole to get to 9-under. He finished par-par-par to earn a berth in the Final Stage next month in Savannah, Georgia.

Each golfers' exempt status for 2022 is determined by how they finish in the Final Stage.

Blakefield finishes T58 in Utah Championship

Mark Blakefield finished tied for 58th place in the Utah Championship. 

Blakefield, who was a co-leader after the first round of the Korn Ferry Tour event, shot a 3-under 68 in the final round on Sunday. He had a 72-hole total of 10-under 274.

Blakefield had rounds of 63, 71, 72 and 68.

Mark Blakefield T18 midway through the Utah Championship

Mark Blakefield shot an even par 71 today and is tied for 18th place midway through the Utah Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Blakefield is five shots off the lead. He had a share of the first round lead after shooting an 8-under 63 at Oakridge Country Club on Thursday.

Mark Blakefield shoots an 8-under 63 and shares the lead at the Utah Championship

Mark Blakefield shot an 8-under 63 today and is tied for the lead after the first round of the Utah Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Blakefield shot a 29 on the back nine at Oakridge Country Club in Farmington, Utah. He ended up with nine birdies including six on the back nine.

Blakefield finishes T30 at Live and Work in Maine Open

Mark Blakefield finished T30 with a 72-hole total of 5-under par 279 at the Live and Work in Maine Open on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Blakefield shot a 1-over 72 in the final round today at Falmouth Country Club. He had rounds of 66-69-72-72.

Blakefield T26 heading into the final round of the Live and Work in Maine Open

Mark Blakefield shot a 1-over 72 today in the third round of the Live and Work in Maine Open on the Korn Ferry Tour.

He is T26 at 6-under and is seven shots off the lead. Blakefield had one birdie, one bogey and one double bogey.

Mark Blakefield is T10 at 7-under after two rounds of the Live and Work in Maine Open on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Blakefield shot a 2-under 69 today at Falmouth Country Club and is five shots off the lead. He had four birdies and two bogeys.

Mark Blakefield fired a 5-under 66 today in the opening round of the Live and Work in Maine Open on the Korn Ferry Tour and is T5, just two shots off the lead.

Blakefield had five birdies at Falmouth Country Club.

Random notes

Here are a few random notes for what looks like is going to be a rainy Saturday:

Laura Marie and former Mason County Royal Tessa Gray won their #2 doubles match 6-2, but the Cumberlands women's tennis team lost their Mid-South Conference Championship match to Lindsey Wilson 4-2 on Sunday in Owensboro. The 19-3 Patriots await a bid to the NAIA Tournament.

Mark Blakefield was T8 after finishing his rain-delayed second round of the Korn Ferry Tour's Veritex Bank Championship in Arlington, Texas. Blakefield shot a 67 in the first round on Thursday and a 66 in the second round which he finished this morning. He was at 9-under, six shots off the lead.

Mason County sophomore Philip Bierley had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, but his Kentucky Select Blue 16U AAU team lost to Indiana Game Premier on Friday. Bierley scored 24 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in a 79-73 victory on Sunday.

Blakefield finishes T8 in the Utah Championship

Mark Blakefield fired a six-under 65 today and finished T8 in the Utah Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Blakefield had a 72-hole total of 17-under 267 at Oakridge Country Club in Farmington, Utah. He was just three shots behind the winner.

It is his second top-10 finish this season. 

After missing the cut in the first two tournaments since the tour resumed following a three-month break during the COVID-19 pandemic, Blakefield had four rounds in the 60s this week. He shot 69 in the opening round, 66 in the second round, 67 in the third round and 65 in the final round. He moved up 20 spots today.

Next week's tournament is the TPC Colorado Championship.

Blakefield misses the cut at Korn Ferry Challenge at TPC Challenge

Mark Blakefield missed the cut at the Korn Ferry Challenge at TPC Sawgrass, the Korn Ferry Tour's first event in nearly three months.

Blakefield had a 36-hole total of 12-over 152. The cut line was at one-under.

Next week's tournament is The King and Bear Classic at World Golf Classic in St. Augustine, Florida.

Blakefield is 42nd on the points list as the Korn Ferry Tour starts back on Thursday

Mark Blakefield is 42nd on the Korn Ferry Tour points list as the tour returns this week with the Korn Ferry Challenge at TPC Sawgrass - Dye's Valley Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Just six Korn Ferry Tour events were played before the COVID-19 pandemic. Ten tournaments were cancelled during the lockdown. The decision was made to have a combined 2020-21 season. 

Blakefield is second on the tour in driving distance with an average of 323 yards and is fourth in putting with an average of 1.6 putts per hole. He tied for ninth place in the opening event of the season.

Blakefield has an 8:39 a.m. tee time for Thursday's first round.

Blakefield opens the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour season with a Top 10

Mark Blakefield shot a one-under 71 today in the final round of The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay and finished T9 at three-under in the season-opening tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Blakefield had rounds of 68-78-68-71 in windy conditions on the Greg Norman-designed course.

He finished strong today with birdies on No. 16 and No. 18.

The second event of the season, The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic at Baha Mar, begins on Sunday.

Blakefield moves up on Moving Day

Today was Moving Day at The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay, and Mark Blakefield made a move up to T14.

After beginning the third round at T30, Blakefield shot a four-under 68. His 54-hole total of two-under has him six shots off the lead heading into Wednesday's final round of the season-opening tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour.

The wind blew hard again at The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay on Monday, scores soared in the second round and only 10 golfers are under par at the midway point of the season-opening tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour.

After firing a four-under 68 in the first round on Sunday, Maysville native Mark Blakefield shot a six-over 78 in the second round on Monday.

His 36-hole total of two-under has him T30, 13 shots off the lead, but only six shots from second place with 36 holes still to be played.

The cut was at five-over.

Mark Blakefield T4 in first round of opening event of 2020 Korn Ferry Tour

Mark Blakefield shot a four-under 68 today in the opening round of The Bahamas Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay and is tied for fourth place, two shots off the lead.

The tournament is the first event on the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour.

Blakefied, playing in the morning group, had five birdies and one bogey.

Cooper Musselman of Louisville is tied with Blakefield.

Musselman had five birdies and one bogey through 15 holes when the first round was suspended due to darkness. 
 
The 72-hole tournament runs through Wednesday.

Blakefield T7 at Korn Ferry Tour Q-School, earns guaranteed starts

Mark Blakefield tied for seventh place in the Final Stage of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying School and secured guaranteed entry into the first 12 events of the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour regular season.

Blakefield, who began the final round tied for second place, shot a four-under 68 today at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Florida. He shot four consecutive rounds in the 60s and had a 72-hole total of 18-under.

It's the second time Blakefield has finished in the Top 10 at 
Q-School. He finished T3 in 2017.

The Korn Ferry Tour is the developmental tour for the PGA Tour.

The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic is the season-opening event on the Korn Ferry Tour. The tournament will be played January 12-15 at Sandals Emerald Bay Golf Course.

Blakefield secures membership on Korn Ferry Tour

Mark Blakefield finished T18 in the Second Stage of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Tournament to secure membership on the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour.

Blakefield shot a two-under 70 today in the final round at Southern Hills Plantation in Brooksville, Florida. He had a 36-hole total of 18-under.

He advances to the Final Stage of the qualifying tournament December 12-15 in Winter Garden, Florida.

All golfers who advance to the Final Stage receive a 2020 Korn Ferry Tour Card, but the Final Stage results determine the golfers status for the regular season. The higher the finish, the better the status.

Mark Blakefield advances to Final Stage of Web.com Tour Q School

Mark Blakefield has advanced to the Final Stage of the Web.com Tour Q School, giving him an opportunity to improve his status for the 2019 season.

Blakefield had a 72-hole total of 14-under par 274 in the Second Stage to advance on the number. The top 18 and ties advanced.

Blakefield fired a 10-under par 62 in the first round Tuesday at Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Florida.

He shot a 71 in the second round Wednesday, a 73 in the third round Thursday and a 68 in the final round today.

The Final Stage of Q School is December 6-9 at Whirlwind Golf Course in  Chandler, Arizona.

Golfers' status on the 2019 Web.com Tour will be determined by how they finish in the Final Stage of Q School.

Blakefield secured conditional status on the 2019 Web.com Tour by finishing in 88th place on the 2018 money list.

Blakefield T4 in LECOM Health Challenge for his best finish on web.com Tour

Mark Blakefield tied for fourth place in the LECOM Health Challenge for his best finish on the web.com Tour.

Blakefield fired a six-under 66 in the final round today and was 17-under for the tournament, five shots behind the winner.

He had six birdies and 12 pars today.

Blakefield had rounds of 66, 71, 68 and 66 on the Upper Course at Peek 'n Peak Resort in Findley Lake, NY.

It's his first Top 10 finish and his second Top 20 finish this year on the web.com Tour. He tied for 12th place in the Wichita Open two weeks ago.
