Royals head to Montgomery County on Friday for the first of three straight road football games

The Mason County Royals' next three football games will be on the road.

The Royals will travel to Mt. Sterling on Friday to play the Class 5A Montgomery County Indians.

Both teams are coming off season-opening home field victories.

Mason County defeated the Russell Reds Devils 21-12 while Montgomery County beat Magoffin County 28-14 in the 77th Recreation Bowl.

The Royals scored 20 unanswered points in the second half en route to a 34-14 victory over the Indians last season. 

Mason County will play at Fleming County on September 6 and at Boyd County on September 13.

The Royals' next home game is on September 20 vs. Rowan County.
