Jace Merz hit seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 21 points as the Mason County Royals snapped a six-game losing streak with an 83-57 win over the Pendleton County Wildcats on Friday night in Falmouth.
Braeden Myrick made four 3-pointers and scored 18 points. Garryon McClain chipped in 16 points and Cole Horch added 15.
Merz made his first five 3-point shots and finished 7 of 9 from beyond the arc and grabbed seven rebounds.
After leading 21-13 at the end of the first quarter, Mason County opened the second quarter with an 8-0 run was up 46-28 at halftime. Their largest lead was 28 points (71-43).
The Royals shot 52.5% from the field (32-for-61) and 48.4% from 3-point range (15-for-31).
The Wildcats shot 48.9% from the field (23-for-47) and 23.1% from 3-point range (3-for-13).
Mason County outrebounded Pendleton County 36-20.
The Royals (10-13) will host the Greenup County Musketeers on Saturday night.
