Amirah Reed, Olivia Hughes and Adrienne Downs-Perry each scored 14 points as the Mason County Lady Royals ran their winning streak to three games with a 59-50 victory over the Harrison County Fillies on Saturday afternoon in Cynthiana.
Mason County (19-8) jumped out to a 10-0 lead and was up 24-16 at halftime. Harrison County (13-14) took its first lead at 25-24 early in the third quarter and the Lady Royals were clinging to a one-point lead when they went on an 8-0 run thanks to back-to-back 3s by Hughes and a putback by Lexi Young for a 47-38 lead with 2:18 left.
The Lady Royals made 12 of 16 free throws in the final 1:47 of the game and scored their final 10 points on foul shots.
Reed sank 10 of 12 free throws for the game including 9 of 10 in that closing stretch.
Hughes and Downs-Perry each knocked down four 3-pointers.
Young had nine points and 13 rebounds before fouling out with 1:59 to play.
Mason County will close out the regular season on Tuesday night in Vanceburg vs. the Lewis County Lady Lions.
