Joe Dan Gold posthumously elected to Dawahares/KHSAA Hall of Fame

Former Mason County Schools Superintendent Joe Dan Gold has been posthumously elected to the Dawahares/KHSAA Hall of Fame as a contributor.

Gold played basketball at Benton High School and Mississippi State University and later served as head coach at Mississippi State.

After returning to Kentucky, Gold was the head basketball coach at Fleming County High School. He was the superintendent of Mason County Schools in the 1990s.

Gold died in 2011. 

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled on Sunday, April 28 at the Central Bank Center Ballroom in Lexington.
