Jordan Gilbert is the new head coach of the Mason County girls' basketball team

Jordan Gilbert, a 2011 graduate of Mason County High School and an assistant coach for the Mason County boys' basketball team the past four seasons, is the new head coach of the Mason County girls' basketball team.

Gilbert will be the Lady Royals' third head coach in as many seasons. he succeeds Kevin Bundy who retired after one season.

Maysville--- The Mason County High School Athletic Department would like to announce Coach Jordan Gilbert as the new Head Girls Basketball Coach at Mason County High School.

Coach Gilbert has been an assistant with the Mason County High School boys basketball program for the past four seasons. Previously he served as an assistant at Madison Central and Mercer County.

Coach Gilbert is a 2011 graduate of Mason County High School. During his time with the Royals, he was a 4-time 39th District Champion, a 2008 KHSAA State Champion, and a 2010 KHSAA Final Four Participant. Following his playing days with the Royals, Coach Gilbert continued his academic and athletic career at Transylvania University before transferring to Asbury University where he completed his coursework, while being a dual-sport athlete for the Eagles (Basketball and Golf).

Coach Gilbert has been serving as the Mason County Middle School Physical Education teacher since the 2018-19 academic school year. Coach Gilbert and his wife, Chelsea, have one son, Jace.

An official introduction is scheduled for Monday, May 9, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mason County High School Library and Media Center.
