Shorthand Lady Royals routed by Mercer County 73-28

The Mercer County Lady Titans, the defending state champions and the No. 1 team in the state this year, routed the shorthanded Mason County Lady Royals 73-28 this afternoon at The Fieldhouse.

Mason County would have been a huge underdog at full strength. Without starters Kara Moran Victoria Brooks, the Lady Royals fell behind 17-0 and trailed 24-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Mercer County senior Emma Souder, who has signed with Northern Kentucky University, scored 26 of her game-high 30 points in the first half.
