KHSAA releases agenda for special meeting

Could another delay in the Kentucky high school basketball season be forthcoming because of the COVID-19 pandemic?

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association has released the agenda for Board of Control meeting on Thursday and one of the decision point items is the postseason event format and potential schedule adjustments considering basketball.

During its regular November meeting, the Board of Control pushed back the start of winter sports including basketball to January 4. Practice is set to resume on December 14. The plan was to still have the state basketball tournaments in March although the dates were not finalized.

COVID-19 cases and deaths in the state continue to rise. All but six Kentucky counties were in the "red status" on the COVID-19 map today.
