Tyler Lippert and B.J. Knox fire a 13-under 59 and have a one shot lead in The Commonwealth Cup

Tyler Lippert and B.J. Knox fired a 13-under 59 today in the first round of The Commonwealth Cup, a two-man tournament at Laurel Oaks Golf Course, and have a one-shot lead.

The tournament features a six-hole rotation of different formats. Holes 1-6 are best ball, holes 7-12 are a scramble and holes 13-18 are alternate shot.

Lippert and Knox shot a 29 on the front nine and a 30 on the back nine.

Three teams are tied for second place heading into the final round on Sunday. They are: Jackson Frame/Corey Richmond, Logan McIntosh/Matt Logan and Brendon Doyle/J.B. Williams. They all shot 60s.

Frame and Richmond are the defending champions. 

Rex Schalch had a hole-in-one on No. 4. He and his teammate, Seth Christian, shot a 66. They are tied with five other teams for the lead in the First Flight.
