Latest revisions from KHSAA extend dead period through May 31

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association today released revised Covid-19 policies and guidance for May 1-31.

The policies include extension of the dead period through May 31.
Coaches are still allowed to contact athletes during the Covid-19 dead period.

The restrictions prohibit all students from using school-owned property for sports activities. That includes AAU teams.

The guidance also points out that Governor Andy Beshear stated on Wednesday that no athletics will be able to be held until at least July.

The guidance also says private instruction by non-school personnel, not held on school property, is up to the individual. But it adds that "Participants should realize that instructors are likely considered non-essential, forward-facing enterprises."
