Isaiah Riggs is state champion in 3000 meter run, Lady Royals state runners-up again

Mason County junior Isaiah Riggs is the Class AA indoor state champion in the 3000 meters and the Mason County Lady Royals are the Class AA runners-up for the fifth consecutive year.

Riggs won with a time of 10:21.14 Saturday at the Carmeuse Mason County Schools Indoor Athletic Complex.

The Lady Royals had a team score of 92, six points behind Rockcastle County.

The Mason County boys finished in eighth place with 35 points. Ashland won the state championship with 102 points.

• Iyanna Johns, 3rd in the girls 55 meter dash (7.74) and 3rd in the girls triple jump (29-08.00)
• Abi Dawson, 2nd in the girls 400 meter dash (1:05.98) 
• Paige Decker, 2nd in the girls 800 meter run (2:34.86), 4th in the girls 1600 meter run (5.41.01) and 5th in the girls long jump (14-04.50)
• Hayden Faris, 5th in the girls 800 meter run (2:44.87)
• Alyssa Bisotti, 6th in the girls 800 meter run (2:46.23)
• Girls 4x400 meter relay team of Paige Decker, Dawson, Morgan Carpenter and Olivia O'Hearn, 2nd place (4:31.75)
• Girls 4x800 meter relay team of Alexis Decker, Elizabeth Lavinder, Alyssa Bisotti and Hayden Faris, 2nd place (11:03.32)
• Sara Brewer, 3rd in the girls high jump (4-08.00)
• Olivia O'Hearn, 4th in the girls high jump (4-04.00)
• Emily Huber, 3rd in the girls shot put (31-02.00)
• Nicholas Drury, 4th in the boys 800 meter run (2:19.34)
• Boys 4x400 relay team of Asher Braughton, Alix Flinders, Nicholas Drury and Josh Irwin, 4th place (3:58.70)
• Noys 4x800 meter relay team of Nicholas Drury, Tyler Thompson, Isaiah Riggs and Mathew Dodge, 2nd place (9.32.82)
• Lang Touchton, 3rd in the boys shot put (40-09.00)
