Both teams shot 41.7 percent from the field and Mason County five more field goals than NewCath, but the Thoroughbreds hit 6-of-14 three-pointers and were 21-of-40 from the free throw line. The Lady Royals were 0-of-5 from beyond the arc and 8-of-14 on foul shots.
There were five ties and four lead changes in the game.
Mason County was led in scoring by Rachel Payne and Sam Schumacher with 11 points apiece. Emma Taylor added 10 points.
The Lady Royals host the Bracken County Lady Bears at The Fieldhouse Tuesday at 6 p.m.
