Mason County Sweeps Montgomery County

Mason County swept a doubleheader against Montgomery County tonight at The Fieldhouse. The Lady Royals scored 49 points in the second half to beat the Lady Indians 77-67. The Royals jumped out to a 20 point first quarter lead and defeated the Indians 73-51. After trailing 36-28 at halftime, the Lady Royals made 17 of 23 their shots (73.9%) in the second half. De'Sarae Chambers led all scorers with 26 points. Kasey Litzinger had 22. Lacey Cline tossed in 15 and Torrey Chambers added 12. Cline had nine assists.
In the boys games, Mason County led by 20 in the first quarter and by 22 in the second quarter. Montgomery County cut the lead to 13 at 51-38 early in the fourth quarter with the Royals' starters on the bench. The starters returned and went on a 16-2 run for the biggest lead of the game, 27, at 67-40. Trevor Setty led the Royals in scoring 15 points. Tyreese Scott scored 14. Darius Miller and Russ Middleton added 12 points a piece. Miller also had seven rebounds and six assists.
