Grutza Named UC Starting QB Again

University of Cincinnati Head Coach Mark Dantonio announced today that Dustin Grutza will be the Bearcats' starting quarterback in the season opener Saturday against Eastern Kentucky.
Grutza, who started all 11 games as a redshirt freshman last season, had competition from Nick Davila for the starting job.
"We felt today that we had to make a decision," Dantonio said in a press release. "Both guys got a lot of snaps with the No. 1 offense over the previous two weeks. Our offense is accustomed to either quarterback being in the huddle. We're going to go with Dustin as the starter and we'll play Nick Davila in the first half as well."
Even with a porous offensive line, Grutza threw for 1,799 yards and 11 touchdowns last season.
