Mason County track and field teams sweep home meets for the fourth time this season

The Mason County girls' and boys' track and field teams swept Mason County Indoor Meet #4 on Saturday. The teams swept all four meets held at their home facility this season.

The Lady Royals finished with 131 points. Frederick Douglass was a distance second (60) and Simon Kenton took third place (57).

The boys' standings were much closer. The Royals had 72 points followed by Frederick Douglass (59) and Harrison County (50). 

There were 20 girls' teams and 23 boys' teams in the high school division.

First place finishes by Mason County athletes include:

  • Kolby Galloway, girls' 1600 meter run (5:51.36)
  • Ed Brannon, boys' 3200 meter run (10:29.92)
  • Lexi Young, girls' high jump (5-7), girls' long jump (17-9.25) and girls' shot put (31-8.50)
  • Trazon Lang, boys' high jump (5-10)
  • Ava Thompson, girls' pole vault (11-6)
  • Keenan Galloway, boys' pole vault (11-6)
  • Ashayne Jones, boys' shot put (45-1)
  • The girls' 4x400 meter relay team (3:53.09)
