Mason County track and field athletes broke eight school indoor records and set records in two new events on Saturday at the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Presidents Day Invite at Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center in Louisville.
Mason County coach Mark Kachler says the team saw season-best performances in virtually every event.
Records broken or set include:
- Sarah Payne, 400 meter dash (1:00.30). She broke the record set by her sister, Rachel.
- Calleigh Passmore, 3200 meter run (14:25.05). That broke the record set last week by Lily Dean in an event just started this year.
- Ava Thompson, pole vault (11' 9"). She broke her own school record her of 11' 2".
- The girls' 4 x 200 meter relay team of Kenzie Gulley, Cece Hiatt, Ava Caskey, Sarah Payne (1:56.24) The previous record was set in 2012.
- Reese Hardeman established the weight throw record (29' 1").
- Ed Brannon 800 meter run (2:02.07)
- Dashawn Overly 1600 meter run (4:30.75) and 3200 meter run (9:53)
- The boys' 4 x 200 relay team of Jaxen Crabtree, Micah Payne, Juan Carlos and CJ Arthur (1:35.32); the previous record was set in 2013.
- Ashayne Jones established the weight throw record (42' 8.25").
