With a district championship on the line, the Mason County Royals had their four-game winning streak snapped by a 49-0 loss to the No. 5 Covington Catholic Colonels on Friday night in Park Hills.
Covington Catholic (7-2) is the district champion. Mason County (7-2) is the No. 2 seed and will play the Greenup County Musketeers in the opening round of the Class 4A playoffs in two weeks.
The Colonels had 214 yards of total offense in the first half and led 35-0 at halftime on the way to their seventh straight victory.
Mason County had three turnovers and only 66 yards of total offense in the first half.
For the game, Covington Catholic outgained Mason County 271 yards to 121 yards.
The Royals will close out the regular season next week at home vs. the Lawrence County Bulldogs.
