Mason County athletes broke seven school records at the Class 2A State Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

Here are the new records:

Amirah Reed, 60 meter hurdles (10.13)

Peyton Ullery, 800 meter run (2:04.81)
Boys' 4 x 800 meter relay team of Peyton Ullery, Bryant Curtis, Dashawn Overly, Ed Brannon (8:18.76)

The girls' and boys' teams each set seven new school records this season.

The Lady Royals were the state runners-up and the Royals finished in eighth place at the state meets.

Coach Mark Kachler says in the last 10 years the Lady Royals have one state championship and nine state runner-up finishes.

"That is an incredible 10 year span," Kachler wrote in an email message.  "It is a testament to the talented athletes and great parent supporters we have had over the years."

Kachler says all four relay teams ran season-best times on Saturday and 16 other athletes had personal-best times or distances in their individual events on Saturday.
