Garyn Jackson made a buzzer-beater 3-pointer from the right wing to give the Campbell County Camels a 64-63 win over the Harrison County Thorobreds in overtime on Tuesday night in the championship game of the 10th Region Tournament at The Fieldhouse.
Campbell County led 32-17 in the second quarter and was up 36-27 at halftime.
The Camels led 52-42 early in the fourth quarter. Harrison County reeled off 11 straight points to lead 53-52, but Campbell County answered with a 5-0 run.
The Camels missed four straight free throws in the final minute of regulation. The Thorobreds tied the score at 57-all on a Kaydon Custard basket with two seconds left.
Custard scored all six of Harrison County's points in the extra period.
Jackson had only scored two points before sinking the game-winning basket. Jackson got the ball back after inbounding it in frontcourt coming out of a timeout with 6.3 seconds on the clock.
Connor Weinel led Campbell County (26-6) with a 26-point, 11-rebound double-double. Broc Sorgenfrei added 13 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter.
Harrison County (17-15) was led by Elijah Harris with 22 points. Custard finished with 13 points and Justin Cracraft contributed 10 points.
Campbell County will play cross-county foe Newport in the opening round of the UK Healthcare Boys' Sweet 16 on March 21 at 8:30 p.m. at Rupp Arena. Newport beat Cooper 46-39 in the championship game of the 9th Region Tournament.
