Mason County girls' and boys indoor track and field teams get second sweep of the season

For the second time in three weeks, the Mason County girls' and boys' indoor track and field teams have swept a meet at their home facility.

It's the third straight win for the Lady Royals.

In the girls' meet, Mason County finished with 129 points on Saturday. Lexington Christian Academy was a distant second with 44 points.

The boys' meet was more competitive. The Royals won with 86 points. Prestonsburg was the runner-up with 69.5 points.

Lexi Young won the girls' high jump (4-10.00), the girls' long jump (16-05.75) and the girls' 55 meter dash (7.57).

Trazon Lang won the boys' high jump by setting a new school record (6-03.00).

Other first place finishes by Mason County athletes include:

  • Calleig Passmore, girls' 1500 meter run (6:11.79)
  • Reese Hardeman, girls' shot put (32-04.50)
  • Dashawn Overly, boys' 800 meter run (2:09.58)
  • Keenan Galloway, boys' pole vault (11-06.00)
  • The girls' 4x800 meter relay team (11:45.42)
Mason County will compete in the KTCCCA President's Day Weekend Invite in Louisville on Sunday.
