The Mason County Lady Royals opened the fourth quarter with a 17-0 run to beat the Harrison County Fillies 60-52 on Monday night at the Lady Royals Gym.
Amirah Reed scored a game-high 22 points, Lexi Young followed with 19 and Olivia Hughes added 10.
Mason County (14-9) led 7-0 and 17-10 in the first quarter. But Harrison County rallied to take its first lead at 20-19 in the opening minute of the second quarter.
The Fillies led 29-26 at the half and 48-37 at the end of the third quarter.
The Lady Royals' full court press turned over Harrison County and jump started their offense in the fourth quarter. They tied the score at 48-all with 4:02 left and regained the lead at 50-48 with 3:50 to play.
Harrison County (9-16) did not score in the fourth quarter until the 1:20 mark.
The Lady Royals outscored the Fillies 23-4 in the fourth quarter.
Mason County will celebrate 50 seasons of basketball when they host the Nicholas County Lady Jackets on Friday night at The Fieldhouse. All former players, coaches and support staff are urged to attend.
