Amirah Reed made five 3-pointers and scored a career-high 28 points, Lexi Young had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Olivia Hughes hit three 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead the Mason County Lady Royals to an 81-64 victory over the Bath County Lady Wildcats on Saturday afternoon at the Lady Royals gym.
It was the 900th win in the history of the program.
After trailing 9-5 early in the game, Mason County reeled off 10 straight points that started a 25-5 run.
The Lady Royals took their first 20-point lead at 45-25 with 5:47 left in the third quarter. Bath County closed the gap to 54-44 at the end of the third quarter.
Mason County pushed the lead back to 15 at 64-49. A technical foul was called on the Bath County bench with 4:42 remaining in the game. Hughes hit both technical free throws, then made a 3-pointer to extend the lead back to 20 points.
The Lady Royals had eight steals and scored 39 points off the Lady Wildcats' 24 turnovers.
Mason County (13-9) will host the Harrison County Fillies on Monday night.
