Balanced scoring leads Mason County to a win over Bourbon County

A balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures propelled the Mason County Royals to a 68-46 win over the Bourbon County Colonels on Tuesday night at The Fieldhouse.

Braeden Myrick made six 3-pointers and scored a career-high 18 points, Landon Scilley had 16 points and five rebounds, Jake Feldhaus had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Braylon Hamilton scored 11 points including his 1,000th career point.

Five of the Royals' first six field goals were 3-pointers.

Mason County (14-6) led by 26 points at 43-17 early in the third quarter.

Bourbon County (8-12) got to within 12 points at 54-42 with 7:31 to play, but the Royals answered with five straight points to begin a 14-2 run that pushed the lead back out to 24 points.

Mason County outshot Bourbon County 52.9 percent to 38.3 percent from the field and made 10-of-21 shots (47.6 percent) from 3-point range.

The Royals outrebounded the Colonels 33-21.

Mason County has won five of its last six games and seven of its last nine.

The Royals will host the Conner Cougars on Friday night.
